I walked out to the river at dusk to see if I could get the moonrise. Only gray clouds from the approaching storm.

I woke up a 3:30 am, walked outside, and shot the moon as it slipped through the clouds before disappearing behind the trees.
A tree held onto the moon after it slipped through the clouds.
Mars, Jupiter, and Venus at 3:48 am.

The sun heads north and the moon goes south.
I know it. I’m amazed at the fact I get an hour more sunlight then say, Pennsylvania.
And Pennsylvania is way north and east of NM.
Right! What time are your sunrise and sunset these days? Ours are 5h18 and 20h40 🙂
Sunrise is 6:03. Sunset 20:21 here. Interesting how the sunrises 45 minutes earlier where you are, but it sets only 20 minutes later than here.
Very strange! But kinda cool, too….
The moon just came up here. I got photos of it through the clouds. I don’t think I got the comet.

Tonight is the full full moon. I’m waiting for it to come and and hoping I can get the K2 comet, but there is a thin cloudcover right now. Go out and see if you can see the moon. Thanks, Dale.

A lot of faces in those clouds. They are beautifully ominous, Tim! I saw the moon here last night, slipping in and out of clouds as it rose.
I just watched it rise through the clouds while I was looking for the K2 comet, that I coun’t see through the clouds.

I don’t know if I could have gotten it with clear skies. Of course I have to find it also. Searching in Internet for where it will be in the sky from where I am was not made very clear.

We get a lot of light polution from Albuquerque to the east and south, and Rio Rancho to the west and northwest.
You remind me of one time I stayed at a cabin by the sea. A very long beach where there were no lights for miles [cabin had no electricity either] and the stars at night were one with the sea and if you reached you could touch them!
It was like that in Burbia way up at the top of the Pyrenees in northwestern Spain.
Amazing feeling!

Speaking of grey, my internet was down for at least 8 hours. There seems to be much patching up going on since the BIG DOWN.
We’ve been getting a little rain. It’s amazing how little rain it takes for some plants to grow in the desert. Our Johnson grass is taller that I am in some areas on the property. A lot of green all of a sudden. Thanks, Resa.

A lot of green. We have pathways that have walls of grass on either side.
Walls of grass. I know that from the prairies. Sometimes walls of golden wheat. Have to be careful not to get lost!
People get lost in the massive corn and wheat fields in the midwest. We can’t get lost in our grasses. I’ll send you photos of the views from the grasses.
