So many great shots this time, Tim. My favourite was the ‘Can you see the pTerodactyl?’, I could for onve, and the lighting and reflections were caught fantastically well. Loved it. I’d like to us it, cut for a blog header, if you don’t mind? Cheers.
I see the pTerodactyl, but I do have a bird eye advantage. At 179 species so far this year – this weather needs to clear out so I can get back out in the field.
At 179 species, are you behind, on par, or ahead of the curve? You can count the species I’ve photographed this year on one hand, actually one finger. Thanks, Brian.
On par with my 340 two-years ago and way ahead of my 325 last year. I am currently number 56 in the top 100 birders in Texas so I am not missing many at each of the places we go.
I guess it just looks like fires with my LA brain at the moment?
Great shots.. Always love to see the pTerodactyl. Tim❣️❣️
I hope you are not too burned out. Thanks Cindy.
Thanks Tim. It’s so sad, the friends, the memories but my flame is burning bright with hope and no more fires.. xo
The orange background is wonderful, Timothy. Our grass doesn’t go that orange, more a streaky light orange and yellow.
Thanks, Robbie. Those are willows and we have alkaline soil and water so yellows and oranges are dominant.
It looks very pretty.
Never thought, lanterns and cranes were relatet until this moment. I like the orange light. Just saw the moon orange, too (6:00 a.m. here).
Thanks, Heidi.

Cut away. You can use it however you please. Thanks, Inchie.
Thank you, Tim.
I will jsut to what Inchy ses there by saying…a great start to the day.
Inchy sez a lot too. I’m amazed how he puts odes together and takes a sarcastic look at each day. Thanks, Shey.
Indeed he does say a lot. He never gives up.
I mean that in the best way.
Determined fellow.
He does brilliantly.
Great shots, Tim. Even the birds seem to think that river is cold. Burr. Stay safe and warm. Hugs.
Thanks, Teagan. It’s been cold.
Yes, I see the pTer and what a gorgeous shot with the orange Sandias and then the cranes flight with more orange…. perfect!
Thanks, Marina. It was a perfect time to be out.
It is a real pleasure to see your photography, Tim. You have the eyes of The Painter.
Thanks, Lavinia. I appreciate that.
Beautiful shots!! 📸
Thanks, Samantha.
Beautiful.
Thanks, Gigi.
I love all of these, but I think that “pTerodactyl in the clearwater ditch” has to be my favorite.
Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Gorgeous post, esp. my tree. xx
(hand is done for the night) xo
Sleep well.
Thanks!
I did..once I fell asleep. The hand throbs, the world turns.
That’s good you slept. As the hand throbs, the world turns. When you can use your hand again, that could make a good flash soap opera.
Great photos as always Tim .. how good is that phone!
Thanks, Julie.

True two NM standards, I’m at the bottom of the birder list.
