I built a package drop box that has “Deliveries” written on it because our house is covered by foliage, and delivery drivers get confused because they at the right address, but don’t see our house. They park right in front of the drop box, and most Amazon drivers walk right past it and leave packages in the darnedest places because they can’t see the house under all the foliage. They apparently can’t read “Deliveries” either.
Well obviously, Tim, your box and sign are just not bright enough. Plus, the word “Deliveries” is such a big word. You need a HERE with flashing lights and an arrow pointing to the box…😏
The skies and Sandias are as lovely as always, Tim. That is a beautiful shot of Orion. We are fogged in with a little rain up here tonight. Been another grey day.
Overcast again this morning. I think the only night sky viewing I am going to get is on your site. The forecast up here is for clouds and intermittent rain all day, into the evening and tomorrow.
😀Also in Germany, the Amazon drivers seem to use nearly everything on wheels for doing their works, going everywhere. The orange cart reminds me and my imagination on a german children’s tale by Theodor Storm, in English named “Little Hobbin”, in combination with this.

The Sandias and the lacy trees are tied for my favorite part of your landscape. As for Amazon drivers, I once had a delivery that looked like it had been hurled from the truck at the garage, which is detached and across the driveway from the house. Luckily, it was a book, so it wasn’t breakable.
My little tiny porch with an even smaller overhang means all packages get left on the top step not under cover when reaching 12 inches further would keep them weather safe. But no. The soggy mess I last got I did not try to pick up but opened and safely retrieved the replacement glass blender jars I ordered from eBay.
We are fortunate the Amazon always winds its way to our door. Well, more accurately near our door. We have holly and azalea bushes that are pretty high, and they make for perfect locations to leave packages behind them so no one can see the parcels from the street. But no, the new arrivals are left squarely in front of the front door in plain view for anyone going by. Porch pirating has become a real thing around these parts, and a new PA law went info effect this year making it a felony. Sandias at Sunset…beautiful scene.
So many times I have looked high and low for Amazon packages, and after not finding them, got a refund or the items resent. Then one week, two or three weeks later one of the neighbors shows up with packages that they found under their bushes while raking leaves or the packages had been tossed over one of their walls. One time I found a package left behind the bamboo stand 200 feet from the house. I was lucky I found it because the package would have been soaked the next time I irrigated. We don’t have problems with porch pirates, so leaving packages in plain sight is no problem and actually preferred. Thanks, Bruce.
Another case of an ex-paper boy gone Amazon. Deliver companies should hire you all to train their drivers how to handle and deliver with care. Thanks, Couriers.
Just do like Laurie and me and name the constelations as you see them. Laurie see’s Chupacaba where the Greeks saw Orion. I see Kiss’s flying-V where they saw Taurus.
We are lucky enough have a good relationship with all our delivery drivers (Amazon, UPS, USPS etc.). They are nice enough to leave our packages in safe spot out of the wind on our porch. Like you, we do not have issues out in the country with porch pirates..they know what will happen if they get caught. As always, enjoy the night sky shots.

Amazon drivers …. no thanks here. They just leave it on my 1 step, which is at a streetcar stop, and junkies and homeless sit on.
