Pre-dawn

Workers have cleared the underbrush and cut down dead trees in the bosque along the levee. I feared for the Tangle Heart Tree, but alas, there is a live limb on the Tangle Heart Tree, so it is safe for the time being. The area where they have cleared around the trees looks great.

Cranes streaming in pink

More beautiful skies and those curvy tree trunks are great, along with the color contrasts.
Thanks, Brad.
It shouldn’t be long before we see the sandhill cranes overhead and hear their bugle call. Beautiful photos.
Thanks, Rebecca.

I am glad Tangleheart Tree is safe, for now. That is a fascinating group photo. The trees look like they are swaying and talking to each other. Very Ent-like.
