We had a cat 7 on the bed this morning. Having all seven cats on the bed at the same time is an extremely rare event. The cats from left to right: Glenda, Silver, Loki, Gwendolyn, Marble, Sasha, and Spunk.

I stayed in bed for an hour after I woke up. I wanted to let mostly sleeping cats lie. It was cold as hell inside and even colder outside when I got out of bed and checked the temperatures at 7:07 AM. It was probably a few degrees colder outside at 6:00 AM when I woke up. It was obviously cold enough that all the cats felt the need to be in bed with us.

The moon shining on Venus.

The cloud looked a little fishy.
Maybe the 7 cat summit gathered to discuss those fishy looking clouds
Hahaha! That could be. However, being desert cats, they don’t care much for fish. They like mice and catnip. There could be a story there: “Catnip and Old Mice”. Thanks, JYP.
Good point. I never thought about the food preferences of cats based on geographic location, but that makes sense that desert cats wouldn’t be into fish.
They don’t like fish flavored cat food, and when I’ve given them real fish, they generally don’t eat it. It’s weird. The treats they go for are catnip and cheese flavored. They love fresh catnip and they also like cheese.
Wow. The cat hair must be phenomonal!!! Humans sleep on the floor! 😉 😉
Thanks, Cindy.
A Cat 7 morning! I was going to say it must have been a cold morning, then I saw your temperature panel. 🙂 Your night sky and roses are beautiful. A mostly clear night tonight, and a gibbous waxing moon overhead. I think it is going to be cold again here tonight, too.
It was 40 at 6:00 this morning, but I only have five cats on me at that time. Thanks, Lavinia.
40 degrees this morning here, too.
Downgraded to Cat 5? 🙂
Cat 7 is extremely rare.
7 cats on your bed…?? Well, I’m sure it must give you a satisfying feeling! I watched ‘Seven Psychopaths’ last night on tv. A great movie from Martin McDonagh with a wonderful cast (Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell and Tom Waits). But I would prefer 7 cats each time… 🙂
Seven psycho kitties. Thanks, Herman.
Seven cats on the bed is my idea of Heaven:). Thank you…..
It was heavenly. Thanks, Janet.
My goodness, that’s some number. Alot better than having giant seagulls hob-nailing all over our loggia roof, attacking the bedroom windows.
Have you been having seagull troubles? Thanks, Shey.
Yeah. They are quite savage here cos we live by the river. We got new double glazing put ona bed room we only use in summer cos it is perishing, so give we didn’t use it for months there, i don’t know if it was going on over the winter or whether ist has started cos I put in new blinds and these are huge windows and this bird is basically attacking its own reflection. Like, the blinds are making that possible.
Sounds like a psycho seagull. Have you watched The Birds recently?
Have to wonder who was warming whom.
It’s a mutual warming. I get the benefit of weighted blankets. Thanks, Brad.
Seven Cat Night gives Three Dog Night a run for the money. Wonderful family candid shot, Tim.
Seven fat cats weigh around 100 pounds. Not anywhere near the weight of three large dogs, but the cats smell better and don’t drool on you. Thanks, Maj & Sher.
Alot of purring going on!
That’s for sure. Thanks, Nancy.
Perfect full house on 707! Brrr… that is cold and nice fishy sky! 😉
It was 40ºF (4.4ºC) this morning. Only five cats on me, however. Thanks, Marina.
They obviously are connected with the thermometer! 🤣
I have fewer kitties on me in the summertime.
Bet you don’t have a camera usually when they’re all in residence. Great catch!
My phone is on the cat tree, so the camera is always at hand. Thanks, Couriers.
hahahah the family cat bed.. no room for you and Lori. lol🐈🐈🐈⬛🐈⬛😻😻😻
Thanks, Cindy.
Yep, indeed!! 💕
That’s a whole lot of cats!!
It is. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim. 🙂
A very delicat moment haha!
Hahaha! Thanks, Geoff.
Nice pics! I’m very envious of your cats in bed situation. I have three and they don’t really sleep with me all the time. My childhood cats did. Grew up with 15, my sister kept bringing them home. It feels a little lonely with 3! Not allowed that many in my apt. I’d like 5.
The cats do sleep with us as much in the summertime. They really pile on in the winter. Thanks, Jebus Mews & Andrea.
I’ve never had 7 on the bed… lucky you!! I had 5 today and went back to sleep so I could enjoy it.
Is Sasha as big as she/he looks in that pic?
Sasha is as big as she looks. She has allergies. The vet had her on prednisolone which made her fat. Now I have her on Atopica again, which works much better, but she is still a huge kitty. Thanks, Leenda.
Wish I could blame my fat on steroids! I feel for Sasha, my appetite goes bananas on steroids!
Our vet wants PCB on a diet but I free feed and don’t have the mental energy required to feed 9 cats at set times. Just organizing a gushy food treat is a nightmare of cats screaming at me!
But fyi, my cats REALLY liked prescription dry diet food (Royal Canin). Unfortunately, it got too expensive for me to continue.
This was the coolest Memorial Day weekend I can ever remember. Still in the 50s at night. My tortoise shell still wants to cuddle, so it hasn’t gotten hot enough yet.
It’s been cool, but staying warmer at night than normal for this altitude. All our trees have fruit, which is a rare occurrence. Thanks, Dawn.
LOVE the 7 cats on the bed!!!!!
The best Tim, the best!
It was great. I had zero cats last night. Thanks, Resa.
xx
How the hell did I miss this one? I imagine it would have been way hard to leave the warmth of those kitty bodies!
I stayed in bed for over an hour so I didn’t disturb them. Thanks, Dale.
Yes, so you said 🙂
Ow, 7 cats on the bed … perfect!
Thanks, Julie.
Hmmmmm, I’ve heard of three dog nights and a cram yourself in the belly of recently deceased Tauntaun night, but never a 7 cat night – that’s a new one for me.
Seven cats smell a lot better then tree dogs,. Plus the cts purr. Thanks, Brian.
