❣The Rio Grande is running high.❣
This sounds and feels so wonderful, it’s a good thing 🏞
Rising above the mountain to light is fire in the sky, an awesome view
Battered but no broken, butterfly has its wings, so beautiful
Whippy though
First dragonfly
Oh I thought they arrived some 300 million years ago
It’s the geese for me
No one except aliens, perhaps, were photographing dragonflies 300 million years ago. If you know what I mean? Thanks, abvr.
You are welcome Timothy 😊
Beautiful post Tim 🤗
Thanks, Gabriela.
My pleasure.
I love the photographs. So beautiful.
Thanks, Gigi.
Wow! These are fantastic!! The first one is my favorite.
Thanks, Liz. Gwendolyn was all eyes.
You’re welcome, Tim.
I saw that cat was staring at you. Anita
Thanks, Anita.
I lurve dragonflies!!
I recently found dragonfly wings in my backyard (body MIA) and found that they expand to nearly twice the visible width. I feel like a dork for not getting a pic!
Interesting. Thanks, Leenda.
Very nice collection of nature.
A little ritter collection. Thanks, Brad.
Fabulous collection. That butterfly has had quite a thug life, judging by its appearance! That moon – wow. The sky IS on fire!
I don’t usually thing of butterflies as thugs, but his wings are like the tattered ears of an old Tom cat. Thanks, Dale.
Neither do I but let’s face it, this one looks like it had a rough time! Yes, like an old tomcat!
Their wings can get all tattered, generally from preditors I think, but you’re take on it as a thug brings angle to the possible cause of tattered wings. It’s a brilliant take on it. To think of butterflies out brawling with the birds and the bees and carrying on. Have you ever seen the sketch Poodle with a Mohawk? A thug butterfly is definitely along those lines.
Of course you are probably right. But hey, why not thug life of a butterfly? 😉 Haha! Yeah, definitely along those lines 🙂
😀
Excellent predator all the same, gulping mosquitoes and flies.
And there were critters. Of absolute beauty too.
Thanks, Shey.
The dragonfly was a great find, nice shots !
Thanks, Rudi.
More fantastic images….thank you:)
You are welcome, Janet.
Beautiful photographs Timothy. Kisses from Paris
Thanks, Angelilie. How’s life in Paris? I hope all is well with you.
Yes, I’m very well. I went to see Beyoncé in concert on Friday night at the Stade de France in Paris and it was magical !
And right now we’ve got the Roland Garros tennis tournament in Paris.
How cool is that? I love magical concerts. Do you play tennis?
It was a great concert with a wonderful atmosphere 🥳 A great singer woman. No, I watch tennis but I don’t play.
I hope you and your cats are well.
The catd are doing well. Ornery as ever. How about your kitty?
Beautiful nature shots!!! So many fun critters running wild. Also, the first photo of Gwendolyn made me laugh! 😄
Thanks, Samantha. Gwendolyn is a silly kitty. Happy you got a laugh out of her.
Lovely pictures, especially the dragonfly
Thanks, Roberta.
Gwendolyn portrait is perfect, so is the hummingbird shot and the Rio Grande and geese and dragonfly and the Moon and the lizard and the butterfly and…. wow that fiery sky! What an enchanted journey!
I’m happy you liked it. Thanks, Marina.
👌😊
I enjoyed your selection, Tim. Hard to pick a favorite, though Gwendolyn\s framed face, the Sandias and fire in the sky are right up there at the top.
Gwendolyn is such a silly kitty. Thanks, Lavinia.
Lots of critters.
The Sandias are gorgeous.
Is that real fire? or… looks like fire?
No end to your skies!
God question about the fire. It’s the sunset, fortunately. Thanks, Resa.
Whew!
Excellent photos. “A Slightly Battered Butterfly” would be a great title for something
I liked Dale’s description of a thug butterfly. It made me the of a Poodle with a mohawk: https://images.seattletimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/2017750744.jpg Thanks, JYP.
Wow Tim … what a great collection! My fav is of course Gwendolyn …
Gwendolyn is a character. Thanks, Julie.
Always like critter filled posts, especially ones with Devo lizards. Reminds me I have a lizard series to get to as well. Great shot of the hummer, lucky enough to get one to stand still for a second. That butter looks like it might have lost a battle with that dragon..or a moth ha. Cute shot of Gwendolyn.
That hummer sits on the treetop keeping watch over the nest in one of the fruit trees below. I was working over by the fruit trees and it started dive-bombing me. Laurie was over there looking as some of the roses and got dive bombed as well. Hummers are vicious.
The lizard only comes in the female variety, and self-replicates. The story goes that after a lady lizard rejected a brutish, uncouth, useless male lizard, he told her to go fuck herself. She took him literally and figured out she didn’t need those brutish, uncouth, useless male lizards, after all. The rest is history. Thanks, Brian.
Yes, hummers look cute on the outside, but on the inside they are evil little buggers. Fascinating about the lizard – I had no idea. I hope that doesn’t catch on with our species!
There are plenty of disgruntled dames around who would like to ride the world of the men.
