Thanks, JYP. We are having clouds and rain. They couldn’t fly on Monday because of the wind. The were able to fly today. The weather service is forecasting rain every day for the rest of this week, so it will be iffy whether the balloons can fly one day to the next. I just found your comment in spam.
Flowers that are supposed to be black are red or purple because the sun bleaches them. Flowers that are supposed to be pink end up peach or yellow from our alkaline soil and water. We rarely get the advertised colors of flowers and roses out here.
Sooooo… It’s a surprise! Which can be frustrating when you desire one thing but get another.
I can’t complain, because the flowers and roses are beautiful no mater their color, but it’s a bit disappointing when I want a certain color.
I hear you. And you’re allowed to be disappointed even while you admire what you do have.
😆 Rule breaking birds! Beautiful roses. 🌹 A storm just rolled thru my city. Major dust and downed trees.
I love the bird commentary, as well as the first King Fisher in flight.
They are silly birds. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim. I have a great appreciation for silly birds.
Excellent bird commentary. How is the festival going?

There’s always that one rebel. Beautiful sunset and rose photos!
These rebels have a cause. I think. Thanks, Rebecca.
Beautiful
Neat mirrored rose closure
Thanks, Dawn.
Hahaha! It DOES look like both birds are looking at the kingfisher and saying just that.
Gorgeous roses!
Taboo is supposed to be black. Black is red under NM sun. Thanks, Dale.
Oh really? Wow… How cool is that?

The wind is into bullying the trees these days. Thanks, Michele.
A stunning pic of dawn.
Thanks, Jeff.
Welcome, Tim.
“Birds aren’t balloons, so we’re okay.”
“Whew! I didn’t want to be stuck here all morning. It’d get boring.”
Hahaha! They are silly birds. Thanks, David.
So the birds flew instead. Lovely.
Rebels. Thanks, Shey.
Rebels are the best.
We rebels know what’s best.
We do actually. That is why we club together whatever.
Sehr schöne Flugstudien!
Somebody need to fly. Thanks, einfachtilda.
Amazing skies and birds and something to think about beautiful taboos.
Thanks, Heidi.
King fisher flyies by no man’s rules. 🙂
Dawn is spectacular, as usual, and those rose portraits with the black background are very beautiful.
52 and thick fog here this morning.
Thanks, Lavinia. We got almost 1/2 inch of rain last night. 53 with fog in various parts of the city. Balloons are flying this morning.
Duh… birds right? They still haven’t learned air traffic signals!
What a spectacular dawn. Perfect for the day too… and the flower!
Thanks, Marina. Bird brains as they say.
Ah ha ha… yes!
They know beauty when they see it and they didn’t want to miss out on the action. How can we blame them Tim?
💕
Thanks, Cindy.
You’re welcome Tim💕
Wow Liz! These sky pictures and roses are phenomenal 😍🥰
Thanks, LaShelle.
No fly zone… love it!
And those roses are gorgeous!
Thanks, Nancy.
We do approve of mass disobedience.
It can be a good thing. Thanks, Couriers.
Beautiful skies with great floats.
Thanks, Eunice.
Those damn birds pay zero attention to any rules – lawless I tell ya, completely thumb the beak at the world.
They certainly are lawless always giving everone the bird. Thanks, Brian.
I should have known this would not be about a crawling insect, or a pair of men’s pants with no zipper.
Some great shots, Tim. The roses are killer!
You just never know what you might find here. Thanks, Resa.
xx!
Divine rose Tim … and a very cheeky kingfisher!
King fishers are always cheeky it seems to me. Thanks, Julie.
Wow, the sky is on fire!
Thanks, Geoff.
