It started raining in the middle of the night and rained on and off all day. We got a total of 0.22 inches of rain. The clouds started breaking up at sunset giving us some color before bedtime.
No Prying Mainti?. Too bad. You would love them. They are really fun to play with. They have a lot of personality as far as insects go. Thanks, einfachtilda
It’s pretty normal for a rainy day. The rain is cold out here, so it really brings down the temps. A good thunderstorm with drop the temperature 20 degrees.
Ah, I see. Our rain in the summer is usually warm.
Our rain is never warm.
Lovely! We are still praying for any amount of rain over here!
💜💜😍
Thanks, Saania.
Wonderful contrast with the black background.
Thanks, Maj & Sher.
I was taken by the gold against black as well.
Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Beautiful colors all around. That first flower pic is awesome.
Thanks, Jeff.
A treasured shot, mantis praying with a sunflower 🌻
Thanks, abvr.
Buona domenica 🙂
Grazie Simona.
You’ve even got the mantis posing for you! As for the painter… he was obviously having a blast!
Blasting out the colors after a day of oppressive grays. Thanks, Marina.
Lovely pics.
Thanks, Shey.
Wow, eine Gottesanbeterin gibt es bei uns wohl nicht und immer wieder diese grandiosen Wolken. Top!

Those passing storms sure do help generate some color when they break up towards sundown.
We see the occasional mantis up here, but not too many. They do have lots of personality.
Thanks, Lavinia. The temps were in the 60s all day yeasterday.
That’s quite cool for your area in the summer?

Hopefully soon.
I love the title! So glad that you had rain. We continue to be in a heat wave up here.
It’s warmer today, but not bad. Thanks, Rebecca.
Great skies… temptation, judgement, redemption, it’s all there!
The mantis sure has an amazing leaf camouflage.
They do camo well. Thanks, Resa.
That pray mantis looks like she is ready for action .. did you use a flash Tim?
No Flash. Thanks, Julie.
Love the title. Praying mantis on a sunflower.
And that much rain, eh? Ouuf… gotta watch for flooding… oy!
The areas that burned in the spring are getting major flooding. Thanks, Dale.
Oh wow. Seriously?
The ground gets baked so the water just runs off in torrents. It’s very destructive.
Of course. That makes sense…
Careful, those flowers can get Slippery When Wet.
True. Thanks, Brian.
