Frolicking Flycatchers

A couple of Flycatchers were frolicking in a tree under the bright morning sun.

Mary and Daddy Owl

Paul trying to get a little shade from the branch above him.

Mary and Paul in the morning and at dusk.

Peter was high in a cottonwood across the ditch from the nest enjoying the shade in the morning. At dusk, he was on a different branch where he had a good view of the Clearwater ditch and bosque. He was much harder for me to see between the leaves and branches.

The moon was at 96.9% full tonight. It doesn’t pass the meridian tomorrow night, and it will be eclipsed into a super flower blood moon.

Flew The Coop

Sunrise

The oldest owlet has flown to a cottonwood between the clearwater ditch and the irrigation ditch.

A Blue Grosbeak hanging out at dusk.

Conjunction? Not!

Behind all those clouds Jupiter and Venus were conjoining. It’s supposed to be clear on Friday morning for the second conjunction of Jupiter and Venus.

Since I couldn’t see the conjunction, I was hoping for a colorful sunrise, but no such luck.

While it might look like Daisy Duck was gabbing to Donald Duck, she was chasing insects.

A very large wasp ran up to me and then turned and retreated when I moved my foot.

Daisy and Donald kept flying by us and landing ahead of us.

Mama Owl, Tres Wowlets, and Daddy Owl.

Parade of Planets

Jupiter, Neptune, Venus, Mars, and Saturn lined up early this morning. Uranus was not visible from Albuquerque, which is just fine. Mercury rises too late to be seen in the morning.

A wowlet looking at me while one of the other wowlets is stretching its wings.

Cross-Eyed Mama

Mama Owl was giving me a cross-eyed look. She had a little surprise for me.

I told Daddy Owl I made my 666-day streak in Duo Lingo. He looked rather devilish in my honor.

Top of a fuzzy head to ya! A little fuzzy head was popping up next to Mama Owl. Not long before we will see a fuzzy little face peeking over the edge of the nest.

Surfing A Contrail

Venus, Mars, Saturn, and two stars were nicely aligned this morning. On the 25th at 5:30 am, Jupiter, Neptune, Venus, Mars, and Saturn will be lined up similar to this morning. However, It might be too light for me to see Mars and Saturn at 5:30 am on the 25th. I’ll see.

The moon was surfing a contrail this afternoon.
