We get a lot of light pollution from Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, but we can still see stars. We used to see the Milky Way when I was a kid. Thanks, Tiffany.
Absolutely amazing Dawn color and landscapes! It’s fascinating to see the humanities building come down and become a pile of rubble after being used so long.
The building had a nouveau cubist style. It was unique. I got one alumni email that showed a rough design by the architect who designed Obama’s library. But UNM does not have that design on their website. So I’m not sure who is designing the replacement. Thanks, Craig
It had the Humanities Department with offices, classrooms, library, etc. They are replacing it with a new boxy building designed by Billie Tsien: http://artsci.unm.edu/hss/index.html. The new fine arts building that is under construction is going to be wild looking: https://finearts.unm.edu/ccat/. Thanks, Resa.
Apparently the humanities building needed some disciplining. I hope they used the right equipment to take that down!
Oh! Deere me! No CATs helped in the demolition of Humanities that I saw. What can I say? It is a stinking university. Thanks, Brian.
That’s a shame
Down but not at dawn.
Close to dusk when I took the photo. Thanks, Shey.
Well, these ones are lovely pics…
Beautiful skies Tim, And it looks like demolition nearly complete… Good to be back visiting again… xx
Thanks, Sue. Welcome back!
Great night bridge image Tim!
Thanks, Brad.
You guys sure get some beautiful skies! We are too close to the big city, too many lights.

Beauty, Tim. I guess it was another Noraura Borealis night for you, too? Mind you, that night sky is beautiful with all those twinkling stars!
Noraura Borealis last night. Thanks, Dale.
Dang!

One boxy building torn down to be replaced by another boxy building. Thanks, LS.
Super cool photos; I especially love the “bridge to nowhere”! 🤩
Thanks, Samantha.
Oh wow, from building to rubble. Gorgeous sky shots and “A bridge to nowhere” does evoke some story ideas.
Thanks, Michele.
Ace!
Thanks, Inchy.
👍🏻
Humanities build reduced to rubble, dagger to the heart.
They are going to replace it with another boxy building. Thanks, Liz.
Still humanities?
Yes!

Dawn to dark – always pleasing skies to look at! I am glad you got a view of the aurora the other night.
It fascinating the aurora reaches down this far fro time to time. Thanks, Lavinia.
Thr bridge ….. night clouds!
Thanks, Geoff.
I kknow the building was cruddy, but some of my best college memories were there. Bit sad to see it go…

What was it used for, and why did they tear it down?
Humanities sounds good. xx
