Apparently the humanities building needed some disciplining. I hope they used the right equipment to take that down!

You guys sure get some beautiful skies! We are too close to the big city, too many lights.
We get a lot of light pollution from Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, but we can still see stars. We used to see the Milky Way when I was a kid. Thanks, Tiffany.

I kknow the building was cruddy, but some of my best college memories were there. Bit sad to see it go…
The building had a nouveau cubist style. It was unique. I got one alumni email that showed a rough design by the architect who designed Obama’s library. But UNM does not have that design on their website. So I’m not sure who is designing the replacement. Thanks, Craig

It had the Humanities Department with offices, classrooms, library, etc. They are replacing it with a new boxy building designed by Billie Tsien: http://artsci.unm.edu/hss/index.html.
