New Cat Stairs

Lonely Dove at sunrise

I replaced the cat stairs on the wall for the cats to get to the hammocks with two sets of prefab kitty stairs. The previous stairs I built from scrap would was made of mohagany. Belafante started to perch on the kitty stairs and chew on the wood. Mohagany in poisonous, so I repaced the stairs with a nno-toxic white wood. It was much less expensive to buy prefab kitty stairs than build new stairs from scratch.

  1. YAAAAYYYY for new kitty stairs!!

I want to get some but I have 96yr old lathe/plaster walls that barely support anything. Plus, stairs would just mean boys spray battling on the walls!

  2. Wow, that last shot is spectacular! All beautiful and your project should keep the cute kitties busy or give them a relaxing spot with a view.

  3. The kitty stairs looks great! And the cats seems to like it too. I don’t think they will complain about the landlord…

    • I will have to reinforce it. It’s not as sturdy as the old stairs. Thanks, Herman.

    • Spunk checked them out, and they met his KISS (kitties into safety standards) requirements. Thanks, Marina.

    • Spunk has to approve all new things in the house. He’s a great model. Loki is not quite as cooperative as Spunk, but he does well. Thanks, Teagan.

  4. Thunderhead? new word to me. So, it’s a big black cloud that could send out lightening & then crack thunder?

So, it looks like not only has Spunkie-Poo 💋 explored the stairs, he’s claimed them!

    • Thunderheads produce a lot of lightning and thunder. Loki checked them out as well. Thanks, Resa.

  5. Did not know mahogany was dangerous, good to know. Looks like the kitties have taken well to the stairs – nimble creatures for sure. Now they will be able to plug into that Fender app and shred from the stairs!

    • Mohagany, and especially walnut, are toxic to animals. I worked with walnut in my formative teen years. I’m sure the walnut, along with other influences, was a factor in warping my mind. Thanks, Brian.
