In days of old, farmers worked into the night by the light of a Harvest Moon to bring in their autumn crops.

  1. glad I dropped by and checked: I missed this post with its amazing shots esp the drainage one, and that info about ‘harvest moon’: heard the term but never clicked why it is called ‘harvest’

  2. Always a pleasure to see what is happening down in your area, Tim, and always love to see the kitties.

The moon was beautiful up here last night. Bright clear! Not so tonight, rain is starting in.

  3. The Rio Grande is looking might fine, Tim.

So, is Spunkie-Poo 💋, mighty fine that is.

Rats! I seem to have developed arthritis in my hands. We are bonded. xx

  4. The farmers here are still using the light of the moon to get their crops in – the combines are going deep into the night trying to beat the rains.

    • Since the irrigation was cut off at the end of July, the farmers here are plowing under wilted crops. Sad state of being. Thanks, Brian.
