Silence From The Frogs (Featuring Teagan Riordain Geneviene on Vocals)
Teagan was gracious enough to lend her beautiful voice to another of my original songs, Silence From The Frogs. I first published Silence Of The Frogs as a poem in 2017 while blogging on T & L Photos. I made the poem into a song in the summer of 2022. I first published the song with my vocals in February 2023. Teagan’s voice is a vast improvement over mine.

The tree trimmers cut the branch that fell on the powerline off the powerline but left it in the bamboo, still pulling down on the phone line. I have to duck under the phone line when I go out and in the gate. The tree trimmers worked late into the night, trimming the trees back from the powerlines and cutting the fallen branch off of it.

Oh my, this is a beautiful and unique song Timothy. Teagan has a gorgeous voice ! I love this. The video is perfect . Of course the sunset , Loki, etc did not go unnoticed. Bravo to you both. Well done
You’re so kind, Holly — thank you. It’s such a great song. I particularly like the base line — it keeps running around in my head. I do love a good interesting base. Hugs.
It is my pleasure, you’ve been hiding that beautiful voice ( at least from me 😊). Timothy is unbelievably talented and this is a lovely collaboration. Awesome! Hugs back !
This is the fourth song Teagan has sung for me this year. They are the first four songs spotlighted on my SondCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-334086053. Teagan has been a real trooper, learning my material and venturing into and tackling musical genres with which she is unfamiliar.
She’s a trooper.
That she is.
I’m always singing along with whatever — it’s just fun. I lived in Nashville a couple of times, and people did try to get me to go professional… but that was back in the days when any concert venue or club was filled with cigarette smoke. The life it included didn’t appeal to me. In later years, I just forgot about it. Bigger issues and struggles were at the forefront. But thank you again. ❤
It’s a real treat to hear you sing. 🎶
Thanks, Holly. I’m happy you like it.
Beautiful
Thanks, vermavkv.
Wow, Tim — that was an amazingly fast turn around with the song. You’re a wonder-worker for sure. Thank you for letting me sing and sharing it here. I’ll share this post as my mid-week post, probably on Wednesday.
You’ve got to be kidding about the phone line — yeesh! That storm just keeps taking another bite. I’m sorry. It looks like Loki wants to cheer you up though. Hugs.
It’s not our phone line. The tree trimmers probably didn’t see it in the late-night darkness. Thanks again for singing another song for me. I worked hard to come up with that bassline.
Seriously, it’s one of the best basslines I’ve ever heard. I used to listen to Clapton (with Cream) or rather whomever the bass on Stormy Monday repeatedly, just listening to the bass.
Glad it wasn’t your phone. 🙂
Thanks, Teagan. People often take the bassline for granted, and the bass players go unappreciated. I remember Lavinia sent me a link to a song that she liked the guitar on, but it was the bass in the song that blew me away. I looked up the bass player (I forget his name now), and he had been a session player with 17,000 records he had played on throughout his career. I asked Leland Sklar, another great session player, if he had crossed paths with the other bass player when he was younger. He said they had been to the same building a few times, but he had never had the pleasure to meet the guy.
I loved this!!! You and Teagan do wonderful work together.
Of course I loved all the pics too.
What a complex -and fun – post!
Thanks, Susan.
Thanks, Susan. I’m delighted you enjoyed my croaking. You’d think the frogs would come out for their own language… 😉 Hugs.
Nice voice keep it up
Thanks, Mayadgama.
Thank you kindly. It’s always great to work with Tim. Hugs.
WOW. Teagan you havea wonderful almost smokey undercurrent here that fits perfectly with the backing. Timothy, I love the music.
Thanks, Shey. Teagan’s voice is perfect for this song.
It’s brilliant.
Shey, you just gave me a big smile — thank you. Tim’s lyrics always hit me on multiple levels, maybe that explains the undercurrent. Hugs.
Well it is one that adds to the magic Teagan. It’s grat xxx
Another great song and performance from you both! It’s always a pleasure to hear your musical adventures, Tim. The combination with Teagan is perfect!
Thanks, Herman. I love working with Teagan.
I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Herman. You’ve given me a big smile. Hugs to you and the kitties.
Thank you so much, Teagan!
it’s good to talk to and listen to the world even if no one replies. Nice vocal, Teagan.
and wonderful skies. (K)
Thanks, memadtwo.
Hi, Kerfe. I’m so glad you could make it to both blogs. Tim finds the most amazing things practically in his own back yard. Thanks for your encouragement. Hugs.
You and Teagan make a great musical team, Tim. Her voice is rich and beautiful. It is indeed a pleasure to hear you both. I enjoyed the video, too.
You are far too kind, Lavinia — thank you. Isn’t the video fabulous! I didn’t realize at first that Tim had added a video, because he put the recording parts together magic-fast. I love the video too. Hugs on the wing.
The video was already done, so all I had to do was drop in the music, change out your image in the beginning, and add you to the credits.
Hugs back! You have the gift of your beautiful voice in addition to your writing, Teagan.
Thanks, Lavinia. I’m happy you liked the song and video.
What a beautifully rich voice Teagan has! Beautifully done!
The photos are of course fabulous. And that is a pain, having to duck under the wire. Hopefully that has since been rectified?
Thanks, Dale. Who knows when they will get the phone line out from under the branch?
Fun. Not.
Hmm… I could have sworn I replied yesterday, Dale. Sorry for my slow response. Thanks for your encouragement — and for listening and commenting. Hugs.
Don’t you worry about that. You’re here, now! It was a lovely listen!
Teagan sounds great, Tim! I adore her strong confident, voice.
Your song is a lot of fun, as is the video. Fab teamwork. Well done!
I look forward to your next collaboration.
…and thanks for all the great pics!
xo – Tim
xo – Teagan
Teagan has more to work on if she’s willing. Thanks, Resa.
That would be great, Tim. And maybe I’ll finish my parody of Total Eclipse — and get you to do a duet, for the male part –and sound effects. 😆
Sounds good!
Now I’m really blushing. Heartfelt thanks, Resa. Hugs.
Heartfelt appreciation! Hugs!
Listening for the third time.
Went to Soundcloud.
Terrific!
Haha. Repeat listens are a huge compliment, Resa. I love hearing that bass. 😎
Thanks for singing! 😎

Thank you, Olga. That means a lot to me, my friend. As does all of your support. Big hugs.
Thanks, Olga. I seem to have missed your comment.
I enjoyed the video. Such a great song and Teagan’s voice is perfect for it. She is so talented.

Thanks, Tiffany. Tim does such wonderful work — and so quickly too. I was amazed. Hugs.
Thanks, Tiffany.
This is a great song, Tim. I love the video, music, words and Teagan’s vocals. Thanks for sharing the history of the song’s iterations. I also like the photos, especially Loki.
Thanks, Dan. Teagan did great. I am happy to get this song out with some great vocals.
As an author and photographer, I know you can appreciate all those versions, Dan. Thanks for listening and commenting. Hugs.
I understand how something creative keeps calling us. It’s like it’s telling us we have more to do. I think this song might be satisfied now.
True.
Very cool video! The “Silence of the Frogs” refrain has a haunting quality to it.
Thanks, Liz. It’s a bit haunting to be by the ditch in dead silence.
You’re welcome, Tim.
what gorgeousness you two. Awesome. This has gifted me beauty at the start of the day. Everything about this is beautiful. Thanks. Bless you in all your creativity. You rock! 👏🏽
Thanks, Selma. I’m happy you liked it.

Hi, Selma. I’m so glad this brought you joy. Tim’s songs are unique, creative, and all around wonderful. Thanks for visiting both posts. Hugs.
Most delightful. The double pleasure is mine my sweet. Bless you.
Wonderful video—that was really cool, and it perfectly matches your lyrics and Teagan’s wonderful voice. Well done.
Thanks, Randall. I’m happy you liked it. Teagan has a great voice. It’s great to hear my music with great vocals.
Hi, Randall. Thanks so much. I really enjoyed Tim’s video too. Hugs.
Hi Timothy, a great song by you and Teagan. She has a lovely voice. I tried but I don’t like how I sound. I’ll leave the singing to Teagan.
Don’t be hard on yourself. You might sound better than you think. That song seems complex and difficult. Maybe you can choose an easier song to start with. Thanks, Roberta.
Yes, that may be a good idea.
Thanks, Robbie. Oh, you’ve been singing too? Just let it be fun. That’s all I’m doing — having fun. I never think I’m actually good at anything. But music and singing, more than anything else, should be fun. Hugs.
Listen to Teagan, Robbie. You can do it.
Well, Tim kindly offered to set my song parodies to music if I wanted to try and sing them. I am not you in the singing department – smile
If you like to sing, it doesn’t matter what you think you sound. You just sing and have fun with it.
You are right, of course
What a beautiful voice Teagan has .. well done! And gorgoeus skies. What is it about cats and boxes 🙂
Thanks, Julie. I’m happy you liked the song. Teagan has a great voice. Kitties love boxes.
Did you get a bad storm that caused all the lines to go down/sag? We have had some wicked wind storms at home over the last couple of months, but luckily all the lines around our part of the countryside are buried (one of the key requirements we had when looking for property to build our home.
High winds broke off a large branch from a cottonwood. Unfortunately, all the power is on poles in Corrales. Thanks, Brian.
