Linda’s Lucky Day

The sky cleared up quickly yesterday afternoon, so I got to see the sliver moon after all.

While riding my bike this afternoon, I stopped and moved a Hognose snake off the road. I didn’t bother to photograph it. If I had, I would have been obliged to post photos of it, but since I had a very unpaparazzo moment and moved the snake without making it pose for photos, Linda and Herman lucked out.

One of our orchids bloomed. It is not common for us to have orchids rebloom.

  1. Funny you should share a re-blooming orchid when I was just looking at my two failures, trying to decide if I just put them out of their misery or give them another chance.

    Spunk looks muy cool there!

  2. The cats look fat and happy, Tim. Love the Howlin’ Thuggin Juggers!

We had an orange -tinged sunrise and sunset today, a faint whiff of smoke in the. The Oregon fire and hotspot dashboard shows about 11 small fires (100 acres or less) burning around the state right now, the closest being southeast of Springfield. That could be tainting the skies, along with agricultural dust.

  3. Like always, I enjoy the way, the images follow their connected ways in colours and curves, so there is a hidden snake in this. 🙂

  4. Hahaha… thank goodness I don’t get to see a snake in the morning while having my first espresso…

  5. An early morning snake…guaranteed to wake you up:).
The photograph of Spunk is simply gorgeous and I concur with Gwendolyn…I love cardboard. I gesso it on both sides and use it as a superb painting support. Enjoy the day….

  6. Wow! I’ve never had an orchid bloom, except for the blooms it comes with.

Gwendolyn and Spunkie-Poo 💋 had a good day!

Beautiful shots, especially without the snake! xx

  7. “…shadow jugging…” 😀
So happy you moved the snake. My son spent an hour using oil to unstick a snake from one of those evil rodent glue traps. He believes the snake knew he was helping it. It slithered all around his arms when it was free, as if to say, “Thank you.” He then placed it in a lidded bowl and drove it to the woods. Snake savers rock!

    • That was great your son got the snake off the glue trap. Those things are horrible. Thanks, Dawn.

  8. Linda is very appreciative you didn’t get any photos of the Hognose – she is a bit concerned that you let one go and thus can make its way all the way up here. Love the SP reference ha.
