I like the sky photos Tim. The first couple look like the surface of a frozen puddle, which brings back memories of walking to school during the winter.
The kids in my immediate neighborhood all ride a bus to the elementary/middle school. The kids in the neighborhoods closer to the school walk or ride their bikes.
Out here, a kid can live across the street from the school and have to be bussed because of rules about crossing streets. For the kids that can walk to school, their parents drive them to school. Cars line along the roads with parents waiting to drop-off or pickup their kids.
It was fun to see Daddy Owl. Down here, yesterday was cloudy. Today is utterly gray — as gray as I’ve ever seen in NM. No rain though, and too warm for snow… but the thickest blanket of gray clouds. Velma doesn’t like it. 🐱 Hugs.
Daddy Owl is looking territorial on his perch.
Let’s hope so and we get some nesting and owlets in the sprint. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Gray day here in SoCal too. But, nothing as exciting in the sky or on tree limbs. the owl is pretty neat. 📚🎶 Christine
Thanks, Christine.
Great pics, Daddy Owl is perfectly camouflaged!
This Owl was staring at you. But this Gray day is here in our area. Anita
Seems like grey all over. Daddy Owl stares at me when we talk. Thanks, Anita.
I just love that Daddy Owl loves the nest and extra perch you created for them! That is just the coolest thing.
And I kinda dig the grey everywhere.
All gray all day is a little out of the ordinary here. Daddy Owl is playing it cool. Thanks, Dale.
I bet it is for you. We get enough of them! And he is cool.
Daddy Owl looks like he’s quite comfortable and very much enjoying the views from his perch, Tim.
He was having a hoot of a time. Thanks, Bruce.
Considerate of you to hang a nest. Daddy Owl seems to be blending perfectly.
You would thing cottonwoods were made for GHOs the go together so well. Thanks, Michele.
Seems so! You’re welcome, Tim.
Lol, even your grey skies have more color than ours just now. Daddy Wowl is wonderful.
He was Wowling around on his perch. Thanks, Shey.
Long as he didn’t eat any wapples or meet any welephants…..
Wonce wupon way whippoorwill, way wise wold Wowl whooted.

Daddy owl has been royally spoiled!
That is true. Thanks, Couriers.
Even your grays are beautiful! As for Daddy Owl, I can hear him hooting “Thank you, my friend, great job and I love my hooting pedestal too! “
Kind of like an owl soapbox. Thanks, Marina,.

I remember those days when we walked to school. I never see kids walking to school these days. Thanks, Brad.

Sometimes similar, 1/4 mile of parents dropping off or picking up.

I can imagine Velma’s not happy. Thanks, Teagan.
Grey skies have their unique beauty. I think I see a little color in those first two photos, a faint beautiful iridescence.
It is always a treat to see the owls. May they hoot long and prosper.
More gray today with a few drops of rain now and then. Thanks, Lavinia.
Daddy owl so well camouflaged up on his perch… Your grey days are never grey.. 🙂 ❤
Thanks, Sue.
PS…. Wishing you Happy Holidays Tim… 🙂
You too.
It’s a gray (and rainy!) day here; I love the gray ambiance of your photos, and the beautifully majestic photos of the owl! ☁️🦉
Thanks, Samantha.
That was nice of you to build Daddy Owl a perch. When do the owls come around?
The owls are around all year. They will start nesting between the end of January and the end of February. Thanks, JYP.
Beautiful pictures and nature is so cool how it camouflages daddy owl nesting, Tim❤️
Thanks, Cindy.
Welcome, Tim❤️
A grey day just feel like and Owl day doesn’t it? They blend in so well, it took me a second to figure out it was in the shot on your first one.
You would think cottonwoods were made for GHOs. Thanks, Brian.
Good job on the nest and pedestal!
Thanks, Julie.
Oh boy! It sure looks like Daddy Owl has that nest picked out.
You really thought of all the bells and whistles for an owl family home, Tim!
Doesn’t matter what colour she wears, my tree is simply fabulous!
Your tree is a looker. Daddy is hanging out on that nest a lot. Hoping for the best. Thanks, Resa.
