Do you see the cranky cloud? Saturn rose with the moon last night. You can see Saturn to the left of the moon. The moon is in the clutches of Gigi’s tree.
You want cranky clouds? Come over here! They are booming and overflowing with a rain of biblical proportions right now. How I’m going to sleep with the threat of more flooding, I know not.
‘Nuff ’bout me. That is spectacular image! The other two ain’t too shabby neither.
Weren’t they, though? Not five minutes later, the drive on the highway was with the four-way hazards at 20 mph and the wipers on full-tilt. All the way home, which felt like an eternity!
Yep. I’ve been in downpours out here where I had to pull over and let them pass because there was zero visibility. Fortunately, they pass through quickly out here.
I do see the cranky cloud! Loved the moon and Saturn too.
I saw the moon last night out my window, trying to figure out what was screeching for hours. I looked up night sounds, and it was a raccoon. Good grief, they are loud and quite scary sounding!
Raccoons, coyotes, porcupine and peacocks (peacocks sound like banshees if you haven’t heard them) can make a lot of scary noises at night. Thanks, Nancy.
Oh, I was walking on the side of a country road trying to get a picture of a very tall sycamore tree and heard the cry of a banshee in the woods! Then as I ran to my car… I saw that it was a peacock from a neighboring farm. It scared the daylights out of me!
We were covered with cranky clouds today that constantly grumbled with thunder. We got a 900th of an ich of rain today. Nine times the rain we got in July. Thanks, Resa.
That is a rather cranky cloud you got there. Also looks like someone had a giant lever and trying to move that giant ball to the right. Very nice looking cottonwood as well – has lots of character!

You need an Ark. Thanks, Dale.
It could help. The thunder and lightening are fierce!
Are you getting good lightning photos?
Not really. I did film a series a few weeks ago during the day.
Those clouds boded ill… and I drove white-knuckled home…
Those were ominous clouds.

I would have but there was nowhere to pull over. In the grand scheme of things, it did not last long in time. Just FELT long!
Amazing how time slows down when you need to go by quickly.
Ain’t that the truth! (And the opposite, of course)
Sure is.
Looks like Cranky ended up in the wrong movie. He’s missing those Little Rascals.
Hahaha! Thanks, Cheyenne.
Nice Tim. I like the dark sky, the evening sky spectrum , and the brilliant yellows.
Thanks, Brad.
I see it! That is an interesting sky. The second image is majestic.
Thanks, Michele.
Welcome.
I LOVE the middle photo!
Thanks, Liz. Early morning is a great time for a tree and the moon.
You’re welcome, Tim.
the color on the moon shot is absolutely spectacular
Thanks, Sylvia.
Beautiful photos as always. 🌻💛
Thanks, CP.
I like that second shot Timothy – very nice composition.
Thanks, Rudi.
That first image is fabulous. Have a great weekend. Janet;)
Thanks, Janet. You too.
The tree is effectionally cradling the moon!
Such a beautiful fading of the moon behind the cotton tree
That cranky cloud looks like a rolling ball of dynamite dressed in white.
Fantastic story of the skies at play.
Thanks, abvr.
It is. Thanks, Geoff.
Cranky indeed. Love the sunflower too. We also need an ark.
We need rain. Thanks, Holly.
Wish I could send some there. We are having biblical downpours.
We can use the rain.
Sending some … 🌸🌧⛈
Much appreciated.
Thre planets came out to play, eh? Anad how too. Ps we have been needing an ark here in Scotland all summer…. Nothing new about that here.
Expected where you are. Thanks, Shey.
Exactly but the way the media has been trying to spin the summer here is quite funny, .
That cloud really is cranky and I think it’s shooting at the moon but fortunately, misses! 😉
Exactly. A cloud ray. Thanks, Marina.
😉

They are so scary sounding in the dark.
😳😱
Gorgeous photos, you have a great eye for catching natures drama!
Thanks, Tiffany.
Love all your moon photos lately and these photos are all awesome!!! 🌕🌻
Thanks, Samantha.
Absolutely beautiful, Tim.
Thanks, Jeff.
I see a cloud monster that shot a contrail through the other clouds. I like that moon in the clutches of Gigi’s tree. She’s holding on tight!
Gigi’s tree had a good hold on the moon. Thanks, Lavinia.
That moon sure gets around!! Nice clutch.
Cranky cloud shot looks smokin’! xx

I tried not to laugh…I know it’s dry…but a 900th of an inch… lol … sorry!
It got things wet and cooled us down. It’s 65º F outside now. Nice and cool.
That’s perfect!

Cottonwoods tend to be characters. They compete with the clouds. Thanks, Brian.
Cranky cloud is right! Ah the second image is a stunner ..
Thanks, Julie.
