Sunset no AI
The beta version of Adobe Photoshop has Generative AI, which I tested. For those of you who are familiar with my music videos using images generated by AI image generators based on my lyrics, the AI-compiled images were more degenerate, on the edge of profligate, than engendered. The results are not much better in Photoshop (beta).

This image is the best result by asking PS Beta to add a UFO.

I asked for a horse, a white horse, and a black horse. The black ram was the best of the three choices that PS Beta offered for a white horse.

PS Beta produced the unbearable likenesses of planets — Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars from left to right. It did okay on the Milkyway.

PS Beta produced fairly bearable likenesses of hummingbirds.
Tim, interesting results. Not quite what would pass for likeness, except the Milky Way. I’m sure it will get a lot better over time and testing. 📚🎶Christine
The problem is AI does not generate new, original content. It puts things together that already exist. Thanks, Christine.
The flying saucer is my favorite, too. That is a very nice catch of the clouds in that one, rain shafts almost looking like they are reaching down to scoop up something from below, and suck it up into the cloud like a UFO.
The UFO turned out to be a good composition, also. Thanks, Lavinia.

Absolute fun, I would say. These fantasy images are pretty cool.
Jupiter, Saturn and Mars look so damn smart
What happened to Venus
Or did you tell the AI to sanction her?
Fantasy images is correct. Thanks, abvr.
You are welcome Timothy.
Between you and me… I’m glad they are not so good 😉
I prefer your own creativity!
I’m bored with AI graphics. It’s better to make my own. Thanks, Dale.
Good! You do a much more betterer job!
These are interesting images. I have only tried Photoshop generative AI once and was actually surprised with what it did. I used an image of my mom at the BioPark. I extended the image on both sides, and the outcome was pretty good. Then I added a white cat, which anyone who knows me would think was Bowie. It didn’t do well at all with my attempt to add a Bengal for Brandt. PS added an update since I have tried it. I’m hoping to find some time to play with it a little more. Thank you for sharing what you are trying with it. 🙂
AI is really hit and miss on the graphics. One of the white horses had a head on each end of the body. The other Saturns were flat circles of rings and other Jupiters and Mars were nondescript. Thanks, Susan.
These AI images are much better than the weird facial mash-ups AI did for your videos.
But PS Beta produced some weird mashups. I shouldn’t be surprised. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
You’re welcome, Tim.
PS AI seems to be in the kindergarten phase, where it mimics what it can find. I’m not sure we’ll see a HAL9000 style intelligence in art for a while. Middle school maybe, but collegiate or pro stuff might be off a bit. Remember HAL from the movies was supposed to have been born 22 years ago. Just sayin’… good stuff Tim.
AI art has a long way to go. I have a way offending AI’s sensitive morals and ethics. I had a typo in on of the first things I asked PS Beta to do and I offended it. A blushing beta. Thanks, Brad.
I am very interested in your exploration of AI, Tim. Thanks for giving these updates. They are brilliant.
As I told Dale. I’m already board with AI. It’s too easily offended. Like a cyber Snowflake, and it’s flaky. Thanks, Rebecca.
I am learning a great deal from your experiments!
We’d prefer your original creations!
Thanks, Couriers.
Well…… it jsut goes to show, don’t mess with the originals, they are brilliant.
Thanks, Shey.
I love the title and…. the originals… and the idea of adding the little horse! I see instead of a white horse, it combined black and white and came up with brown! 🤣
For time being it seems to be Artificial Idiocy …may it stay so too!
True. Thanks, Marina.
The UFO is my favorite.
But I like your photography much better. This AI stuff is a bit “out there” for me.
Enjoy your Monday!
It’s a bit weird. Thanks, Nancy.
I’ll stick with humans!
Me too. Thanks, Dawn.
Degenerate indeed! The squished Saturn amuses me
the other Saturns were pancakes. Thanks, JYP.
Im curious about AI.
It’s weird. You might get some interesting and strange images feeding AI image generators lines from your poems. Thanks, Holly.
Maybe I’ll give that a shot. 😊
Haha, maybe I’ll do that.
I’m unhappy with WordPress chat bots interacting with us humans. They pose as creatives interested in what we’re doing. I’m trying to detect, sift and filter their robotic responses. In business not only are they replacing people, among the non-consumer they’re placed to imitate human emotions and reactions. Very creepy.
I’m with you on that. Chat bots don’t answer the critical questions. Thanks, Mary Jo.
No AI for me. At least not yet.
The images a re quite laughable, especially the UFO. I see my tree chuckling.
Hey, did you hear about the Beatles new song? Paul is in on it. They used AI to pull John’s voice (& George) from a demo that never got produced into a track.
It will be released soon.
I guess Paul and Ringo are short of cash. xx
I had not heard about the Beatles in AI. It will be interesting. Thanks, Resa.
🎼Yeah. yeah, yeah! 🎼
I just read a short peice asking if the Beatle’s 50th-annerversary album is the death of real music. I don’t think so, but it’s an interesting part of AI. Of course, music applications have used AI for years. People just don’t realize it.
I agree, not the death of real music. People will still go to clubs and listen to live performances. Norm and his pals.. and you will continue the passion. Die hard purists will play real music into the future
Still, AI music will become a challenge. Those who cannot play an instrument, nor have any musical feel or acumen, do and will continue to operate programs and create product for a market that embraces money over art.
Yes, AI has helped create music in the past. I think the difference is that in the past AI helped, but the artists still made the final decisions.
In the future AI will make the final decisions.
Sigh, the ongoing attempt to mechanize intelligence it getting frustrating. The main ingredient is inference which distinguishes from the simpler regurgitation based on trends and bulk data. In this case it couldn’t even get the simpler part right in the case of the horse. So far I am not concerned about Skynet taking over – probably blow a cpu trying to define a woman based on today’s context twisting. I did laugh at the flat Saturn.
It’s not impressing me. Thanks, Brian.
The last time I checked, a white horse does not look like a black ram. I wonder if it took its horse reference points from Katy Perry’s Dark Horse.
Me too. Our neighbor has a white horse that looks nothing like a black ram. As for Katie Perry’s Dark Horse, AI would probably use that little dog running around on its hind legs. Thanks, Deborah.
I agree with Dale! Keep making your own ..
Thanks, Julie.
