Looks like the Rio Not-so-Grande running through your gardens. Too bad there’s not a good (eg. inexpensive) way to capture most of the water for use later. Nice mountain photo taken at the Golden Hour if I’m not mistaken?
Tim, thanks so much for continuing to be interested in the sequel. I’m half way through the writing process. Right now, I’ve been in Italy with my son and his wife. A fabulous two weeks, ending tomorrow. It was like coming back home. So many good memories. 📚🎶 Christine
It is heart-lifting to see rain has come to you, Tim. I don’t know the specifics and it may not last long, but when drought has been predominant like it has been there, water is a precious gift. Fantastic photos. I especially liked the grandiose Rio Grande in the first one.
No rain in our parts. We have received 1/100 of an inch of rain so far this month. The Rio Grande is running high from the snow melt. NM got a decent amount of snow in the northern mountains over the winter. Not like CA, but enough that they have to let the river run high, which is good for providing water for irrigation on a regular basis. Thanks, Jet.
Wild how the depth of the Rio Grande fluctuates.
Do you ever find critters living in the irrigation ditch?
Anyway, love watching the earth turn green! xo
When the acequia madre is low I will often see crawdads, minnows, bullfrogs, and Rio Grande suckers. The gophers dig in the irrigation ditches I dug. Thanks, Resa.
Good to hear the Rio Grande is on the rise. Can’t remember how it was doing when we were down there in January….thinking it had been dry, but my retired brain can’t remember back that long ha.
That is some view from the river towards the mountains. Timlandia is a beautiful place.
Thanks, Lavinia.

Your images tell a story of a
A blessed and beautiful year for the Rio Grande
Breathing through that sinew,
Moist, lush and lovely

Tim, always interesting photos of your surroundings. You have a good eye for changes, and finding words to describe them. 📚🎶 Christine
Thanks, Christine. How’s the sequel coming?

Gorgeous; I could imagine your photos featured in a calendar!!! 😎
Thanks, Samantha.
Day fixed! Thank you, Tim!
Did you have anything to do with that ditch?
I dug that ditch. I dug it to rerout water in 2014: https://wp.me/p1yQyy-1RF because the Conservancy started restricting irrigation: https://wp.me/p1yQyy-1RY. Thanks Marina.
Thought so !
and WOW!!!! That is A LOT of work!!!!!
My joints hurt just thinking back on it.
Mine would too!

Neat… an eco-system on its own!

It was pretty dried out in January. Thanks, Brian.
Nice to see that green!
I’ll bet you are green even though it’s winter where you are. Thanks, Julie.
