Fiery skies deceive
Cold as hell inside. Outside?
Hell will freeze over

Contrails, curves in clouds
Shapes to savor at sunrise
Lavender lingers

Left on time today
Sun smiled on me through the clouds
Home before moonrise

Will I ever learn
The moon scolds me, “You’re not home!”
Freaking late again

Fog at dawn
Obscured trees and beyond
Gone by noon, no photos, no proof
Greeted by the moon under a dark, rainbow sky
Yes, I got home late

Pastel clouds in new day’s light
Rippled by the winds
Nightfall turned them all to gray
Nothing there to see

Dawn couldn’t color the sky
Frozen from white into shades of gray
Sun painted Sandias red between blues
Jupiter jumped over the moon
