The Sandias and the City of Albuquerque covered by smoke from the Trout Fire in the southwesten part of the state near Silver City this morning.

It was a hot one. The high today was supposed to be 102º F (38.9º C), but on the street it was 117º F (47.2º C) according to my car’s thermometer that records the outside temperature.

I found new Spunk Art when I got home this afternoon.

Jake and I went out for a walk at golden hour. The afternoon breezes had cleared out the smoke that covered the Sandias this morning.

Cotton blowing in the breeze at golden hour.
The smoke has started early this year, and we are both in for a heat dome, fireball summer.
Lovin’ the golden hour, Tim. 3 golds…Jake, the hour and the ……
Thanks for the Spunkie-Poo 💋 art!
Spunk says you’re welcome on his art. Thanks, Resa.
Spunkie-Poo 💋!
I thought the fires seemed earlier, Resa
They are. It’s so scary.
It’s way too hot up here. 116 Sunday and Monday. 90 would have been hot in the pre climate change world.
, heat can be worse than cold.
YES!
It’s so dry, it doesn’t take much to start a forest fire.
Scary
we’ve had a smoke haze from the Canadian fires for weeks.
It’s amazing how far smoke travels. Thanks, Couriers.
Nice golden hour photo!!!!
Thanks, Leenda.
Oh my, the cotton takes first prize in this line up with me.
Thanks, Shey.
117??? Wow!
Loved that last picture.
Stay cool, Tim.
Thanks, Nancy.
Truly Golden hour! The clarity is amazing [after the smoke cleared].
I hope your walk was in lower temps!
Spunk is a busy artist!
I was cooling down when we were out. Thanks, Marina.
Lovely golden hour! But 117 degrees is waaaaaaaay too hot for me.
It was only 102 above the pavement. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
The golden hour photos are wonderful and the car gauge showing 41 mpg caught my attention!
My Mazda MX-5 gets exellent gas mileage. Thanks, Brad.
Zoom, Zoom!
Yep. Thanks, Brad.
I have been reading about the fires. Glad it cleared.
Thanks, Robbie.
Jeez, I am grateful we have had mild temps so far, I just can’t handle heat like that! 🔥
Thanks, Tiffany.
Beautiful.
Thanks, gigi.
Yep, it’s hot in NM… Sigh…
I love the Golden Hour photos, Tim.
There’s that song again! 😀 Although I’ve been expecting to, I’m not sure whether or not I’ve gotten smoke from that fire — the air was already so bad that I can’t really tell. Hugs to you and yours.
I think it blew north and didn’t spread much to the east. Thanks, Teagan.
The “golden hour” is truly that! It is when The Painter does their finest work. I think it is going to be a rough fire season everywhere this year. Stay safe.
There are two fires. One was started by lighting. Thanks, Lavinia.
Wow. The second to last is so stunning.
Thanks, Cindy.
Was not aware there were fires out there – we just go through all the smoke coming from the Canada fires. That is some definitely hot temps. We are currently getting poured on so the temps are staying bearable. Figures the summer we get cooler temps I’m sidelined.
It’s dry and everything is ready to burn, baby burn. Thanks, Brian.
The golden hour is indeed golden….. We are having high heat for us…Almost 95!!! xx.
Thanks, Janet.
xx
Our neighbor has a cottonwood tree (at least that’s what another neighbor said it was). The seeds clump together like huge snow flakes falling in June. It’s neat to see. The wind in its leaves makes a sound similar to a small babbling brook. I call it the water tree.
Your stuff there looks like it can be breathed in and tickle the nose. Very pretty photo
Cotton is our summer snow. Thanks, Dawn.
117 is off the charts. 😱
That was the pavement. it was 120 on Tuesday. Thanks, Cindy.
Oh wow, that’s amazing and you still took a walk. You’re my hero.
Love the warmth in the last shot Tim …
Pretty hot with the fires. Thanks, Julie.
Oh dear fires are never good …
