Smoke From A Distant Fire

The Sandias and the City of Albuquerque covered by smoke from the Trout Fire in the southwesten part of the state near Silver City this morning.

It was a hot one. The high today was supposed to be 102º F (38.9º C), but on the street it was 117º F (47.2º C) according to my car’s thermometer that records the outside temperature.

I found new Spunk Art when I got home this afternoon.

Jake and I went out for a walk at golden hour. The afternoon breezes had cleared out the smoke that covered the Sandias this morning.

Cotton blowing in the breeze at golden hour.

  1. The smoke has started early this year, and we are both in for a heat dome, fireball summer.

Lovin’ the golden hour, Tim. 3 golds…Jake, the hour and the ……

Thanks for the Spunkie-Poo 💋 art!

  2. Yep, it’s hot in NM… Sigh…
I love the Golden Hour photos, Tim.
There’s that song again! 😀 Although I’ve been expecting to, I’m not sure whether or not I’ve gotten smoke from that fire — the air was already so bad that I can’t really tell. Hugs to you and yours.

  3. The “golden hour” is truly that! It is when The Painter does their finest work. I think it is going to be a rough fire season everywhere this year. Stay safe.

  4. Was not aware there were fires out there – we just go through all the smoke coming from the Canada fires. That is some definitely hot temps. We are currently getting poured on so the temps are staying bearable. Figures the summer we get cooler temps I’m sidelined.

  5. Our neighbor has a cottonwood tree (at least that’s what another neighbor said it was). The seeds clump together like huge snow flakes falling in June. It’s neat to see. The wind in its leaves makes a sound similar to a small babbling brook. I call it the water tree.
Your stuff there looks like it can be breathed in and tickle the nose. Very pretty photo
