Belafonte watching the Super Bowl halftime show on Apple Music.
I don’t watch football, so I did not see the game or the halftime show yesterday afternoon. However, I read various complaints about the halftime show this morning on various platforms. Most of the complaints were that people couldn’t understand the lyrics, others about how Kendrick Lamar danced, moved around, and bent down while he rapped.
When I got home, Laurie said I needed to watch and listen to the halftime show on Apple Music through her fancy Apple headphones that have dimensional sound. I can’t speak to what it was like watching the halftime show live, but watching it on Apple Music, the show was spectacular and the sound was phenomenal through Lurie’s Apple headphones. I’m not fond of rap, but that was a great show and I liked the music.
As far as Kendrick Lamar’s moving around and bending down while he raps, moving and bending help to open up the vocal folds, making the rapper’s voice more effective. I don’t know if rappers know that instinctively or have been trained by vocal coaches to bend and move while rapping, but I suspect a combination of both.

Until SP is asked to do the halftime show, I ain’t bothering to watch it. I also prefer OG rap and not this lame lip-syncing excuse, but that’s just me. To each his own – that’s why there are knobs on TVs hehehehe. I could have used a Soren when I was in school!
I totally agree on SP on a halftime show. Lip-syncing on the brinking? I asked some of our young folks what they thought about Taylor Swift and the like lip-syncing in their live shows. They thought it was fine. It’s like, “Give us the action, and as long as they sound like their records! Who cares how they achieve it!” It’s a different generation, and they don’t give a flying fart about what us old folks, sorry has beens, have to say about it.
True, but they have built an industry of disposable entertainment. As soon as the majority realize they can listen to a tape and get the same experience at home for free their careers are over. I want to hear the misses and scratches to know I am paying for a live performance.

i was busy running after the babies so didn’t hear a thing. I just asked my husband what he thought and he said it was horrible but that was live. Interesting it could be so different on Apple Music. Sounds like we should stick to that.. Uh oh, hope Lauries hw wasn’t important! 💗

Thank you for the commentary about the Super Bowl halftime show… I didn’t see it (or the game) and couldn’t figure out what all the hubbub was about (even tried reading a couple of articles but still couldn’t understand what the concern was). Ha, ha, well then I still don’t understand it… but I get the antiquated vibe from the group of people who would think since they don’t like rap, it’s an issue 🙃. Crazy. I thought there would be something like the ‘Timberlake – Janet Jackson’ scene. Sigh… what a world we live in.

My tree (which is a full time show) would have made a better half time show IMO. I found it lacklustre.

You have a lot. I’ve only heard of cable, Disney and Netfix. We don’t have Apple TV, but Laurie has Apple Music. Have you seen the show, Severance? I heard the music is all the rage.
Not yet, but I’ll be watching it for the EMMYS. The nominating viewing platforms will be open soon. Too much to actually watch all, but I will be watching Severance.
