Teagan Does Metal

Dawn

Night To Day. Lyrics and Music by Timothy Price. Vocals by Teagan Riordain Geneviene.

I played an unplugged version of Night To Day on my freshly restored Elvis Presley Harmony guitar in my farewell to 2023 video on New Year’s Eve. I later recorded the metal version and asked Teagan if she wanted to sing it. She wasn’t sure about singing metal, but Teagan is a good sport, and she is adventurous when it comes to art and music, so she dove into the metallic pool and nailed it. Her ethereal voice is perfect for the ghostly theme of Night To Day.

Night to Day

Lyrics and Music by Timothy Price
Vocals by Teagan Riordain Geneviene

[Verse 1]
I saw Sun crash to the ground
It threw colors far and wide
With yellows into reds consumed
Swallowed up by ravenous blues

[Pre-chorus]
Dusk sang dirges to the dark
Clouds ignited a fiery show

[Chorus]
See the darkness
Nighttime’s falling
Time to slumber,
But ghosts are calling
Feel the darkness
Your skin starts crawling
Who can sleep when ghosts come calling

[Verse 2]
As embers meander through the night
Shadows creep under bright moonlight
Dawn wakes colors that light the sky
Painting darkness red, yellow, blue

[Pre-chorus]
Defeating darkness that’s Eos’ way
She breathes life into one more day

[Chorus]
See the light
Ghosts dissolving
Time to rise
A new day’s calling
Feel the light
Your skin stops crawling
When you’re up to see ghosts dissolving

[Bridge]
Night to day. Day to night
Flesh and spirits, in a moment, fight
For the right to live or die
Trading places, one sacrificed

[Outro]
See the darkness
Nighttime’s falling
Time to slumber
Ghosts come calling
See the light
A new day’s calling
Time to rise, see ghosts dissolving

Spotted Towhee in the tree. House Finch lands in the same tree. Spotted Towhee chases House Finch away.

Spotted Towhee was all proud of himself.

Nora Owl flew over where I could get better shots of her this afternoon.

Walter and Willa were in the top of the cottonwood huddled up together and dozing on and off.

Osric Owl was trying to sleep with the wind blowing his ear tufts.

We have had persistent high winds since Thursday night. Several thunderstorms blew through this afternoon dropping a quarter inch of rain, and pelting us with marble sized hail.

  1. More great photos! Walter and Willa look cute all huddled up! Spotted towhees are notorious hiders, often heard but rarely seen. Your pictures here are remarkable!
I couldn’t play the video, marked “Private.”

    • I did not set the video as private. What are you trying to view it from? If you are trying to view it on your phone, I noticed there are a lot of problems with viewing videos on WP on phones right now. It actually had all my videos mixed up on the wrong posts the other day, The video might not had loaded yet. You should try it again. Thanks, Susan.

  2. Tim, thanks so much for letting me sing this song. I know you put a lot of extra work into it to raise the key for me. Wow… me on the same song as that fantastic guitar work! I’m giddy.

The video turned out extremely cool. I love what you did with that, moving around in the still images. Adding the glimpses of Laurie’s fingernails and the woman blowing bubbles really added to the surreal feeling of it. Brilliant work. Hugs!

    • Thank you for singing for me Teagan. Your voice fits so well with the song that I thought it needed a video to go with it. Brilliant work on your vocals and your CGI. Laurie noticed it was really good quality work, way beyond what most people produce.

  3. whooo hoooo you two.. so good,. Love filming lyrics and singing. Teagan did nail it and is was sooo great! The ghosts are calling in summer no less. Amazing what the storms can produce. 💓💓

  6. Ah, Tim and Teagan this is brilliant! Teagan’s rendition adds an eerie dramatic tone and your guitars and production send it sky high! Owls, hummingbird, Towhee and painter, all agree!

  7. Teagan’s voice matches perfectly in your song. Having an espresso on a Sunday morning and playing your song is a good way to start the day…

  8. You and Teagan make a great duo, Tim. Her voice is honest, beautiful and captivating. Your playing works in perfectly.

I enjoyed seeing all the scenes from Price gardens to bosque and Sandia skyscapes. Those are some mighty active clouds.

  9. The photos are great. The video is excellent. Music and lyrics are and interesting mix, and Teagan did a wonderful job with this song. You guys make a great team!

    • Thanks, Cindy. I checked spam. No comments from you in there. I guess the ghosts got it.

    • Many thanks, Cindy. LOL, the ears of the world can be thankful that Tim asked me to sing his wonderful song, otherwise I was considering trying a cover of a Grace Slick song to go with my midweek post, The Rabbit Hole. Ha!
WP really is the devil about comments… It’s frustrating. Hugs.

  10. This is a fabulous collaboration, Timothy, of you and Teagan! Loved the song and Teagan’s singing! And your photos are beautiful. I love owls, so I’m partial to your owl shots. Wonderful post!

    • thanks for your wonderful comment, Lauren. Most of my posts over the past couple of months of had owls. You can see lots of owls if you need an owl fix.

  11. Your song reminds me I have to get going on this year’s new Haunted Trail props – don’t have much time left to get everything done.

    • Only 121 days left until Trail Time. You better get hoppin on those prorpins. Thanks, Brian.
