We do get very clear skies. We are at 5000 feet in the valley. Even though we get very clear skies at night, we get a lot of light pollution from Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.
Beautiful skies, Tim! The moon is on the wane now. I was able to see her and Jupiter last night for a while. Those cloud critters crept in during the early morning hours and are now sitting on us like hens. Rain in the forecast this morning.
I just checked the forecast again. The bulk of it is now supposed to start around 4:00 PM and start tapering off around 1:00 AM on into Tuesday. No moon viewing tonight.
Oh, so that’s Jupiter. I was out in the dark dawn this morning reveling in the sky scene, wondering what that bright planet was, and knew you would have an answer. Thanks Timothy. Really enjoyed these magical night sky photos.
When you are out at dawn, the bright planet in the east is Venus. Jupiter is high in the southwestern sky at dawn. Bright, but not as bright as Venus. Thanks, Jet.
You capture the colours in an amazing way.
Thanks, Roberta.
The cloud critters at sunset is fabulous:). Enjoy your week.
Love how the atmosphere settles down in the last image with those playful puff-puffs.
“Puff-puffs” is a great description. Thanks, Janet.
I wish you a wonderful week, also. Thanks, Janet.
Off to Scotland at the end of the week…..
Sounds like fun.
I am looking forward to it
Those two fluffies paved the way for Moon and Jupiter through fire. 👌
“Fluffies” I like that. Thanks, Marina.
☁️👌
Wow! That last picture is incredible! Wow!
Thanks, Nancy.
I saw the moon tonight and wondered which planet that was. Thanks for the answer!!
You are welcome. Thanks, Leenda.
The cloud criters of both colours are amazing.
Thanks, Shey.
Nicely done Tim. You certainly have a lot of cloud formations for being in a arid environment.
We do get a lot of interesting clouds. They only come out to show off and be beautiful. No stinking rain for us. Thanks, Brad.
That also means very clear skies when they eventually leave.

Forgot about that part. I thought they would have all used cut-off light fixtures by now. Saves energy
Looks like a poodle is chasing a…. lemme see, what dog has long poofy hair? Barbet (thanks, Google)!
Fun stuff!
A poodle chasing a Marvel character ot transformer, maybe. Thanks, Dale.
No matter the participants, there is definitely a chase going on! 🙂
Speaking of chase scenes, did you see OSS 117: Lost In Rio, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1167660/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt? There is a hilarious chase scene in a hospital in the move.
No! I did not! Merci beaucoup. I shall search for it 🙂 Looks like a fun movie. (I do love the French movies…)
I thought it was hilarious.
I bet it was 🙂 I’ll keep you posted, if I find it!

They save the rain for you. I’m jealous. Thanks,Lavinia.

It’s overcast and windy at the moment. I don’t expect much rain.
The orange in the last cloudscape is striking!
It was a very orange orange. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Ok this is totally surreal. Love how the rainbows are radiating around the moon and those orange and blue skies
Thanks, Cindy.
That second shot is spooky – looks like an eyeball with the moon as a pupil.
Eye think you are right. Thanks, Brian.
The first moon looks like a Van Gogh moon.
Lovely shots, thank you Tim!
I think the man in the moon is missing an ear. Thanks, Resa.
Lol! Took mea few secs. x

Those cloud critters in the last photo really do look like puffy dogs
Thanks, JYP.
