Clouds were building up in the late afternoon. We got a fifteen-minute gully washer at 6:40 pm. Turn up the volume on the video and listen to the rain.
The sky 40 minutes before the storm looking east, west and southeast.
A tiny rainbow before the storm

For the past couple of hours I have gotten multiple weather notifications and I have seen the heavy clouds. I knew you were getting a lot of rain and I appreciate the video. 🙂
Thanks, Susan. It was nice to get some rain.
Oh, yeah, that’s a good downpour. Sky pic is ominous and beautiful.
It feels so refreshing to see the rain in your video. The sound of the faling rain on the roof of the outside terras for the cats was impressive.
The cats were out in the catio getting wet and insisting I hold them when they are wet. Silly kitties. Thanks, Rudi.
I always love the sound of rain, especially at night. It helps me to fall asleep.
It’s waonderful to listen to the rain at night. Thanks, Herman.
Prayers worked!!! I love that sound …and the scent of freshly damped earth.
…and ah, those skies!
Happy weekend, my friend!
They sure did. Thanks, Marina. Your prayers are much appreciated. We and all the plants, trees and critters thank you.
Hera helped too! 😉
Thank you, Hera.
Pretty rainbow!! 🌈
Great images and a fun video. Appreciated Silver’s audio cameo. And glad you got some rain!
Silver was mad because I made him get off my lap to do the videos. Thanks, Maj & Sher.
WOW. Glad you got a gully washer. There wouldn’t be this fab post if you hand’t. (Ok it would have been another one. But you get my meaning.)
It was a nice change to have a decent, intense rain. Thanks, Shey.
Wow great pictures! the skies looks absolutely amazing! I love how beautiful it is. It started raining here too. Not like that tho.
That rain brought the July total to 0.95 inches of rain. The total for 2022 so far is 2 inches of precipitation. It’s super dry here. Thanks, Becky.
Your welcome. It’s been hot and dry too. But not like your area. It just started raining today. Thank goodness.
Yay!!! I love me a good gully washer like this! So happy you got some rain, at least… beautiful pics, of course.
Did I mention the kitties went out into the uncovered part of the catio, got wet, came back in and wanted to sit on my lap. At least wet cat doesn’t stink like some wet dogs.
You did not! Thank goodness because lord knows, no matter how clean a dog is? When it gets wet, it stinks!
You can see the weather developing in those photos. I like the tiny cloudbow. I am glad you did get some rain to wet things down.
I like that covered patio/catio you built. Nice work!
Thanks, Lavinia. The cats love it. It’s a lot cooler than the cover.
Impressive clouds and a beautiful noise of falling rain around that cosy place.
Wow, how lovely!!! The photos you captured leading up to the storm are gorgeous. And the rain sounds are peaceful!
Thanks, Samantha. It was nice to get some rain.

thank goodness you got rain. I’m still waiting with nothing in site. 💖 gorgeous rainbow!
That rain must have been a very welcome sound! (It sure is loud on a metal roof.)
It’s a plastic roof, but it is still lowud. We got a very violent storm this afternoon that was blowing rain sideways and got everything on the deck wet. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Oh how fabulous that it rained… and listening to rain is simply wonderful. Loved the video. Thank you!
At least you got rain!!!
I love the sound of rain.
That is true. Thanks, Resa.
Nice! It’s been so long since I’ve seen or heard rain, thanks for the reminder! 😉
Good afternoon happy Monday godbless 🙏🙏🙏
Hope it felt good during and after.
I’m so happy for you that you got some rain!
So am I. Thanks, Dawn.
Wow those pictures are well taken, credit to the Photographer. Such beautiful pictures of the sky, rains and nature😍🔥
🙏You’re welcome Timothy
Guessing that is a welcome sound about now – although coming down that fast usually means it washes away too fast, but maybe it collects in your irrigation systems – Our overflows hit the stream in the middle of our property, head to an Illinois River feeder, dumps into the Illinois River and works it way down to flood St. Louis …or any sucker that doesn’t build a levee as high as his neighbor.
Our property is flat, so the rain soaks in. But the areas that burned around the state earlier in the year are flooding because the rain runs of that scroched earth with great force.
