Gully Washer

Clouds were building up in the late afternoon. We got a fifteen-minute gully washer at 6:40 pm. Turn up the volume on the video and listen to the rain.

The sky 40 minutes before the storm looking east, west and southeast.

A tiny rainbow before the storm

  1. For the past couple of hours I have gotten multiple weather notifications and I have seen the heavy clouds. I knew you were getting a lot of rain and I appreciate the video. 🙂

  2. It feels so refreshing to see the rain in your video. The sound of the faling rain on the roof of the outside terras for the cats was impressive.

    • The cats were out in the catio getting wet and insisting I hold them when they are wet. Silly kitties. Thanks, Rudi.

    • Silver was mad because I made him get off my lap to do the videos. Thanks, Maj & Sher.

    • That rain brought the July total to 0.95 inches of rain. The total for 2022 so far is 2 inches of precipitation. It’s super dry here. Thanks, Becky.

  3. Yay!!! I love me a good gully washer like this! So happy you got some rain, at least… beautiful pics, of course.

  4. You can see the weather developing in those photos. I like the tiny cloudbow. I am glad you did get some rain to wet things down.

I like that covered patio/catio you built. Nice work!

  5. I am so glad because of rain there Timothy, God Bless your Country and big family 🙏🏻 I am sending a kiss to Sasha 🐈 and a hug for a Buddy 🐕 to get better and better with a his eye ❤️

  6. Guessing that is a welcome sound about now – although coming down that fast usually means it washes away too fast, but maybe it collects in your irrigation systems – Our overflows hit the stream in the middle of our property, head to an Illinois River feeder, dumps into the Illinois River and works it way down to flood St. Louis …or any sucker that doesn’t build a levee as high as his neighbor.

    • Our property is flat, so the rain soaks in. But the areas that burned around the state earlier in the year are flooding because the rain runs of that scroched earth with great force.
