The Same

Dawn

Jake

Sunset

Dusk

My life is quickly being reduced to some old dawns, dusks, sunrises, sunsets, cottonwoods, pets, Rio Grande, bosque, Sandias, moon and pets with an occasional stinkbug, bird, bee, flower, and different trees thrown in. Below is a recent song I wrote about things being “The Same.”

  1. There’s nothing wrong with everything being “The Same”. I actually prefer it, it makes me feel good and gives me peace of mind. Long live the daily routine!

        • Charlie’s message of love and peace has carried beyond his death. People gathered in the thousands and millions around the world to pay tribute to Charlie without rioting, burning buildings, or murdering people gathered to pay tribute. When his detractors mocked him, defaced, and destroyed memorials, few resorted to violence to stop the detractors. As George Carlin once said about assassinations, “The people who preached love and peace are the people who were assassinated!”

    • It’s not a video. It’s an audio link to SoundCloud. It could be a connection issue. It should play in your browser.

  2. I really like the song. I think we all feel that way sometimes, especially after the kids are up and out of the house. One of the reasons, I suppose, that I enjoy the little surprises that nature (and life) sometimes throws your way.

  3. I can’t get that to play. Maybe because I don’t have SoundCloud, or possibly as I attempt to sit outside & figure out the problem, the mosquitos are being a***holes & consuming concentration, I can’t tell. Did Jake spend time in the wild, he has interesting eyes?

    • You probably don’t have a good connection. It should play in your browser. Jake was found, abandoned as a puppy. Thanks, Dawn.

  4. Actually, you have a point, nearly all day today, I’ve had to step outside for reception, yet I was far from the wifi as I read your posts… on my end, I’m sure.
Poor Jake. He’s tough and sweet

  5. Wow, this song is AWESOME! And it makes me strive for consistency, complicity, simplicity, and aging life’s duplicity 🙃. Really fantastic. Vocal, guitar, but mostly the melody. Love it.

    • Thanks for the wonderful comment, Randall. As we age we seem to fall into all those “icities!” I’m happy you enjoyed the song.
