Little Green Bags

Since we’ve adopted Jake, I spend a lot of time carrying little green bags of dog poop around with me when we are out on walks. The old song “Little Green Bag” by the Dutch band George Baker Selection came to mind one day, so I wrote parody lyrics about those little green bags of dog poop. I recorded the parody, and Jake and I made the above music video.

Silver: “It’s your own fault for adopting a dog. Pathetic poopy paparazzo!”

Gwendolyn: “Whoa! You really pick up that crap? At least with us kitties, you use a slotted scoop to clean the kitty litter.”

Spunk: “Well, pathetic poopy paparazzo. Your doggedness has done you in!”

While I’m off work for the holidays, Jake misses his ride to and from the office every day. He goes outside and sits by my car, waiting to go to work. When we don’t go to the office, he acts disappointed, so I’ve started taking Jake for a ride in the car every day while I’m on vacation. Today we came across a cluck of cranes.

  1. They are Red here and I always wonder how a dog would think about the human collection of poor bags for dogs it is forbidden to clean up of their own in the case they met some.

  2. You always give me a chuckle!
And how sweet that Jake gets a ride everyday.
My sister does the same with her pup. How fun!
Merry Christmas to you and ALL of yours!

    • Jake sits in the car like a person. He doesn’t stick his head out the window. Only stupid dogs do that as far as he’s concerned. Thanks, Nancy.

  3. Fun song and video! Jake was having a glorious time running, rolling, getting wet and dirty. And he was probably laughing that you have to pick up after him, so he makes more. The cat’s comments were just right, too. 🙂

  4. That is a great parody video, Tim! Jake looks lie one happy dog, rolling and racing around, barking and having a great time. He doesn’t eat cat poop out of the boxes, does he? A friend’s dog used to love cat poop, and she had to keep the litter box where the dog couldn’t get at it. They were like Tootsie Rolls for the dog.

I like the cluck of cranes you found.

  5. When I sat down with my second cup of coffee this morning, I did a search to see if you had made the video for this parody. The video version was a lot easier for me to listen to than just the recording — the “difficult sounds” seemed to go to the background a little.

It was a Christmas morning delight to watch Jake play. LOL, he’s a character, a handsome, happy dog. I got a kick out of the kitty reactions too. Hugs.

    • Thanks, Teagan. I’m happy the video distracted from the music. The song is weird with only a verse and a chorus. No bridge and a lot of repeating. It also has a ranchera rhythm, which is annoying.

  6. LOL! This is hilarious. Love the lyrics and the video with Jake just having a ball being a dog and you looking dismayed is absolutely priceless. Of course you had to give him credit in the credits!

    • Thanks, DJV. My life is carying around those little green bags all the tim. Jake has a great time being a dog.

  7. Hahahahaha! Car Jake…. lol… Gosh he loves his life with you.

I’ll watch the video tomorrow. Norm’s watching a movie. I shall not disturb!

The song is hilarious. Thanks Tim!

  8. Took me awhile to get the video downloaded as I’m on one crappy Internet service here on the beach. Will have to watch it again when it isn’t chopped up, but definitely a parody I can relate to…although not to the degree..err…size that you have to deal with ha. I think Jake is a natural in front of the lens.
