Dawn

Stormfront that blew in from the north.
After partly cloudy skies all day, I watched the storm rolling in from the north on my way home. Not long after I got home, heavy rain, lighting, and thunder let loose for about 45 minutes. I did various chores around the house while the storm raged on, but as soon as it let up, I got on my bike and rode in light rain and cold wind under dark clouds that lit up in the southwest as dusk descended.

My two-mile turnaround is a little way past the bridge.

As darkness fell, the moon showed through the clouds.

The clouds looked menacing, hanging over the darkness as I rode home.
Very dramatic clouds! I like all the textures and colors.
They did offer up a lot of textures and color. Thanks, Rebecca.
We started the day in LV, sunny, but cool. Coming home was another story, being delayed with a ground hold in Denver due to snow. It was mostly a rain/snow mix this afternoon, more rain than snow. Tonight is cloudy and cold.
It’s nice to finally get some rain down here. Thanks, Deborah.
A new day, sunny and bright, but cool. After Thanksgiving, at week’s end, we’re supposed to get 4-8 inches of snow. But, of course, we’ll see if it happens. Rain is a whole lot better than snow.
O/T: I have no idea what’s going on with WP. The gremlins are bad this time round. Got locked out twice, don’t know who’s receiving a new post notice or who’s on the follower list. They suggested contacting a few on the follower list to see if they are subscribed. To me, it seems to be lame idea when you have more than 700 followers at last count, and many of them inactive or gone away completely. That goes along with the inability of liking a post, or commenting. It kinda leaves you wondering, “are they still around?” Anyway, another day there too.
The forecast is for colder temperatures after Thanksgiving. We’ll see if any rain or snow comes with it.
I’ve given up on worrying about WP shenanigans. I get knocked off blogs, and end up following blogs that I never followed. Since I’ve had reports of followers having trouble commenting on my posts, my comments are at about half, but spam comments, which used to be hundreds a day, have drop to one or two a week.
My comments were at 99K for the longest time. I was watching for 100K, then the count jumped from 99K to 101K. The counter apparently got stuck on 99K and then after a WP update, jumped right over 100K.
I’m building a new website for the office on a self-hosted WP site on one of our virtual servers. WP makes it easy to keep the website updated, but I have broken the site many times, getting the WP white screen of death, and had to go through a recovery process each time to restore the site. My tech at our ISP was trying to get some things to work, also, when he broke the site and had to recover it. I guess that’s the way of WordPress.
I think a few of your comments were flagged here as spam, so I think you won’t be getting any new post notices. I can try to add you back to see if it works, or you may need to bookmark us.
An exciting night! Beautiful captures.
Quite exciting. Thanks, Michele.
Love the 2nd photo. An arching storm front.
Thanks, Cheyenne.
Fantastic cloud photography
I had a feeling that yesterday and even the day before, that the whole world was caught up in a storm.
Amazing prowess and finesse the the glowing moon.
Thanks, abvr.
Tim, awesome cloud formations, especially the first two photos. You always capture the whole story in the sky right into nighttime. Thanks! 📚🎶 Christine
Thanks, Christine. I was happy to get good clouds and sky photos out of my cold and wet ride.
As the rain approaches and when it lifts are two moments to indulge on skies and landscape and boy are these moments you captured a treasure!
Those are the times and the decisive moments. Thanks, Marina.
Wonderfully dramatic.
Our skies are all about drama. Thanks, Shey.
Thank YOu for the wodnerful pics.
You are welcome.
That must have been a serious CB cloud that passed over your place. You made some realy nice pictures after the storm.
Since I was out in it, I wasn’t going to let it go with out photos. Thanks, Rudi.
And you are a brave soul to go out into the elements!
Great pictures of the drama lurking in the sky! Thank you!
You have to brave the elements to capture the drama. Elemental, my dear. Thanks, Nancy.
These skyscapes are stunning! The one with the bridge is my favorite.
I like the bridge too. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Roiling conjured clouds and a beautiful golden end to the storm, Tim. Glad you are getting some rain down there.
Up here, I saw the moon briefly before sundown, when a thick bank of fog crawled down over the surrounding hills and swallowed us whole. Right on 32 here this morning.
Thanks, Lavinia. 27 degrees outside 57 inside when I got up. The cats were determined to keep me in bed this morning.
Stunning photos, Tim, so moody and ominous, yet beautiful! 😍
Thanks, Tiffany.
Thank you for braving the weather on your bike, Tim. I am in love with that bridge photo! Wowzers.
Thanks, Dale. I partial to that one, also.
With good reason.
You captured some very fun cloud activity. Quite the mood change from morning to evening.
Thanks, Brad.
Looks like a little extra motivation to pedal a little faster!
It was a slow night slogging through wet sand and mud against the wind. Thanks, Brian.
Wish we had some storms to follow here. just sunsets overvthe Pacific every day. Let’s do a swap.
Boring old Pacific. Thanks, Geoff.
Such beautiful photos!
Thanks, Dawn.
All are magical but I loved the one with the bridge and the burning water.
I like that one too. Thanks, Susan.
Wow, talk about excitement! Didyou get a decent amount of rain? x
Enough rain to make mud. Thanks, Resa. We have a little snow this morning.
Wow! We haven’t had any in the city. The pollution melts it before it lands, until it gets several degrees below 0c. Coming soon!
Good on you for getting on the bike! I’m a fan of the bridge pic too … gorgeous golden glow
Thanks, Julie. Riding is good as long as I don’t crash.
