It was a productive evening besides a sudden windstorm that knocked out our electricity for an hour. Thunder, wind, loss of power, no rain. Thanks, Marina.
MLP High-Hoofing it for the 2023 green chili char!
How lovely that Daddy Owl stopped by.
That setting sun is espectacular!
I haven’t seen the moon in days. Maybe tonight?
The chiles are Big Jims, which are considered medium-hot. On the extremes, it’s killer hot to some tastes, super mild to other tastes. It generally has a nice bite to it, but it can have some killer hot bites, as well.
I took some chili’s to a friend many years ago. We went out for the day and when we came back, the chili’s were all over the kitchen, and had little bite marks in them. His cat was running like its tail was on fire from the front of the house to its water dish and back to the litter box in the back of the house. It kept this up for 15-20 more minutes before finally passing out. We finally figured it had eaten at least one and had sampled the rest and was burning the candle at both ends. It took another 20 minutes before we stopped laughing.
How nice to have an owl drop in to say “hi”. We recently had a wild turkey come crashing down into the top of a large oak tree above our heads while we were out walking (they aren’t very graceful creatures). At first I thought it was a large owl, but after further inspection, its long neck came into view. Unfortunately, it took off abruptly before I could get a photo. Fun nature encounters!
Turkeys are like bumblebees, they should not be able to fly, but somehow they do. Having a wild turkey crash land on you would be exciting. Thanks, Rebecca.
Those are the very same infamous MLPs from stupid Santa. They love having fun and getting a bit of attention now and then. They look hot on green chiles — they like anything that makes them hotter. Thanks, JYP.
After we remove the stems and take out the seeds, we bag them and freeze them in the bags. After the chiles are thawed, we chop them up and put them on pretty much everything. This post from two years ago has a more thorough description of the process: https://wp.me/p1yQyy-6Lq. Thanks, Charlotte.
MLPs and a Great Horned Owl – a super spectacular, extravaganza, color explosion, terrifica post! Looks like that cloud face is sticking its tongue out at me.
So, is your chillies thing all smoked and over?
I’m still a tomato slave over here. At least Emmy voting is done.
Working on Charlotte’s gown post.
Have you ever had a day when nothing seems good enough?
I’m going to bed. Maybe things will look better manyana! xo
Beautiful… the owls are back?
The never left. They just had to moe trees. Thanks, Holly.
I’ve been missing them
We here them a lot, but haven’t seen them much.
There seeking refuge from the heat.
Even Daddy Wowl was there! Yes.
Even old daddy came out to play. Thanks, Shey.

Maybe I’ll get lucky tonight.
It’s always good to get lucky.
You said it, Tim 😉
Hello Daddy Owl!
And the Great Wall of Chile made me giggle!
Happy Tuesday!
Thanks, Nancy. Happy to give you a giggle.
A wonderful surprise.. Hi Daddy Owl!💞
Thanks, Cindy.
I enjoyed your photo selections,Tim. It was good to see Daddy Owl again, too!
Too cloudy to see the growing crescent moon up here. Maybe by tomorrow. Weather reports change daily.
Thanks, Lavinia.
Great sky photos Tim. Not sure on the Little Pony’s though. 😉
MLPs just want to haf fun. Thanks, Brad.
They best be careful with the chilies though. I presume they are one of the hotter varieties.

Poor kitty. Green chile will do that to you.
These were hot little red ones, 2″ long or so.
Same effect! Fire in the hole. The kitty needed milk to help put out the fire.
Good to see Daddy Owl again! I love the crescent moon photo; it’s magical!
Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.

Are these the MLPs from your Christmas gift from Santa? Who knew MLPs like chiles? This is a great scene

When you roast the chillis what do you do next? Dry them or grind them? I’ve never seen chillis roasting like that.

The MLPs are into extravaganzas. Cheeky cloud. Thanks, Brian.

Great photos Tim … love seeing the owl!
Thanks, Julie.

Lots of days things don’t seem good enough. We are done with chiles, but we have tons of fruit. Thanks, Resa.
LOL! Chilies and fruit. Sounds like a regular gas to me.
I think I’m funny.
They don’t call it Tootty Fruity for nothing!
Hahaha!
Hey, there’s a Little Richard docu on this weekend!
Cool.
