Like A Bowl Of Strawberries

Silver thinks life is like a bowl of strawberries.

We remodeled the kitchen at the office this week. It all started Tuesday when I removed the cabinets in the storeroom so we could move the cabinets from the kitchen to the storeroom. Jake and I took out the lower cabinets in the kitchen and installed them in the storeroom, and then replaced the hot water shut-off in the kitchen. The new kitchen cabinets were installed on Wednesday. I installed a new, deeper sink and a new dishwasher. We have a new kitchen at the office.

  1. Smart to repurpose the old cabinets in the storeroom. You have less cabinets in the kitchen, though 😉

It’s strawberry season here! Oh Spunk!

            • When we moved in the tall fridge we had downstairs didn’t fit under the cabinet. Since the shorter fridge was still needed in the downtown office for a few months before we could move everyone into the building, we bought a new fridge for the kitchen. We asked for the shorter cabinets over the fridge and sink in the remodel. I have a ratcheting paper towel dispenser coming in Monday to go under the cabinet over the sink.

              • Ahhh… Now that makes sense! You guys have a really nice setup. Offices and kitchen and the whole shebang. They are lucky to have you!

                • The old dishwasher was worn out. We tested the new dishwasher yesterday and it got all the dishes sparkling clean. Even white cups that have had coffee and tea stains for years.

        • I did so much work to make it as easy for the installers to do their job. I be’d the plumber which was no fun at all. Wednesday was crazy. I worked 10 hours without time to eat. I was really worn out when I got home.

      • Abso insanity here with rehearsals. We don’t have premises which is one of the reasons I packed all this in 30 years ago. But we do get free rehearsal tim int Verdant Works. The only prob is that there’s an exhibition in the mill itslef where the play will be , so that means that 12 bags of props and god knows how many placards get unloaded in the car park every sat morning at some ridi time and we all march like ants round to the museum , then up five flights of staris with them to the weaver’s room, with them. Then we have a two hour window before we march back with them all again. Yes we rehearse here too but it is crazy…… . Quite intense in taht we all play umpteen parts, sometimnes back to back and did I add there’s no backstage on thiis play

    • I like that you see a moon burst. I’ve already been out cutting back bamboo this morning. We have black bamboo gone wild. Your Incognito Tree has pears. Actuall all our fruit trees have fruit this year. Since I feel like I’m going nuts, It going to be a summer of fruits and nuts. Thanks, Marina.

    • Remodels are only fun in a sarcastic way of thinking about them. I hate working on them, especially when I be the plumber, but they have to be done. Thanks, Brad.

  2. You’ve been busy. You can install our new washer/dryer combo in the main barn tack room, if you like. 😉

    • I believe you are perfectly capable of doing the installation. I wouldn’t want to deprive you of the experience. 🤪 Thanks, Deborah.

    • Spunk said you are a wise woman. Bowls of chicken and turkey count as bowls of birdies. Thanks, JYP.

  3. Silver looks like he wants to eat a strawberry.
I’ve always called that mark on Spunkie-Poo’s 💋 nose a strawberry. So cute!
    Nice work kitchen reno.
It pays to have a good snack room in the office! xx

  4. Whoa, whoa there Spunky, I think you mean a bowl of mousies ….I know you don’t want to hurt the little birdies. Nice job on the renovations!

    • Spunk is alliterate and meant a bowl of birdies, at least metaphorically meowing. Thanks, Brian.
