I like that composition with colored leaves on a soft grey background. I love the birds, too, flicker scanning the horizon and Mallard Airlines headed into the wild blue yonder.
Makes sense. We say “flick” something off. Then there is flick for a movie, but those spelling have that pesky “k” that got left on the beginnings and endings of so many words because the printing press happened before the great vowel shift. Thanks, Couriers.
There are ducks that are actually called gadwalls 😂
Egads that’s hilarious. Gadwalls are closely related to Falcated ducks and Wigeons. Funny names beget funny names. The female mallard in my photo looks a lot like a female Gadwall.
The duck, who is looking like a Gadwall, is a bit lame on her opinion in my opinion. Since everything is twisted these days, so goes it with the tongue. Thanks, Marina.
WOW… that Duck so clear in flight… LOL to the Copper /Police in English…. also known as a Bobby… on the Beat!… 🙂 They no longer walk the beat… But ride their cars.. 😉
Great photos Tim..
Things that make you go “hmmm”. And I love that you know that in French we call the cops des Flics! Beauty of a mallard pic! Love the light on the first one.
That lone duck looks like he has a lot of personality.
It was a quacker. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim. 😀
Virginia Creeper has such beautiful colors in the autumn. It sounds like that duck is a wisequacker. 🙂
HAHAHAHA! You are hilarious., Thanks, Rebecca.
I had to read that second sentence twice. Lovely pics, Tim.
Thanks, Jeff.

Thanks, Lavinia. 33 degrees at the moment.
Beautiful!
Thanks, Inge.
A flic in colloquial English is a feather duster…

Language is endlessly entertaining and perplexing.
Genial, die Ente!
Thanks, einfachtilda. She’s a quacker.

Let’s let them chatter 😂
These are lovely. Kind of delicate.
Thanks, Shey.
That duck has a look of determination. And so many names for 5-O…
Flic, Cop, Pic, Fuzz, Smokey are five, and Five-O make six. Thanks, Maj & Sher.
Po-po
That’s a great tongue-twister! Even lone duck isn’t sure!
Love the fiery autumn leaves.

That duck looks like it is quite focused on its next destination. Nice shots all, Tim.
The duck is frantically trying to stay airborne. I don’t think ducks are well designed for flight. Thanks, Bruce.
Low flying…. ducking for cover!
Duck! A duck! Thanks, Geoff.
That’s one lame lone duck.. so cute Tim. love how the pics in your first pic blink❤️
Thanks, Cindy.
That lone duck looks most determined, Timothy. Great pictures.
It was. Thanks, Roberta.

Thanks, Dale. Do you know the Alain Delon movies like “Flic Story”?
I do not!
They’re fun movies.
I’ll have to look into them
I’m in love with the leaf sunset.
Thanks, Eunice. It is lovely.
Lovely shots Tim … wish my duck shots looked like that! Must be the famous zoom lens
The bazooka in action. You need to get one. Thanks, Julie.
I don’t know?
Love the duck!!!! Thanks, Tim!
Don’t you have a little French up where you are? Are you familiar with “flic Story” with Alain Delon?
Oh yes, French is one of the 2 official languages in Canada.
No… I’ll check it out! xx
Made me laugh, I always enjoy good bird humor – well done.
