Where might Nora be?

Osric Owl preening and stretching while keeping an eye on the tree Nora Owl is in.

Osric Owl and Nora Owl were in a tree about a mile north of us. Two large limbs broke off of their tree ruining their nest in 2021. I saw them with their owlets last year in a bosque between a horse and the llama farm about 1/4 mile north of us. I found Osric owl in a tree above a horse stall on the llama farm tonight. By observing the trees in his line of sight and watching him closely to see where he looked for an answer after he hooted, I think I spotted the broken tree where I think Nora Owl is sitting on her eggs. The tree is in the middle of the horse coral at the llama farm.

I think Nora Owl is nesting in the broken tree in the middle of the coral.

It couldn’t get a shot of the full opening in the broken tree, but this photo shows part of the opening.

I got back home to a fiery sunset.

A Bunch Of Photos

Dawn @ 25º F

Geoff bitched at me last night for commenting on his photos rather quickly. I did make a quick pass through them. I can take in images rather quickly. However, I did not read anything he wrote. As I explained to him, my eyes are really messed up, so I can’t see very well to read right now. You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting the images I normally post this time of year, i.e., cranes, owls, other critters, the bosque, and the Rio Grande. With my bad eyes, I don’t feel like going out and looking for things to photograph. I’ve been working on music more than photography lately. As far as other bloggers’ posts, I can read short pieces, but I have to skim longer pieces if I read them at all. As far as a lot of bloggers’ posts I would normally comment on, I don’t comment if the posts require a lot of reading.

Anyway, took a bunch of photos today between working on music videos, watering, playing guitar, doing laundry and dishes, and hearing cats.

Beaker. He doesn’t like his picture taken. He keeps moving so it’s hard to get a clear shot using effects.

Since a lot of people couldn’t find the owl’s nest in Susan’s Tree on the February 28th post, here’s a photo of the nest after I got it secured on the tree last August.

Satire Sunday

Government Motors Reintroduces The Trans-Am

In a nostalgic move, GM has announced it’s bringing back the Trans-Am, as an all-inclusive automobile with the advanced, leading-edge “Pedal-Electro” propulsion system that will bring Pride to everyone. “This is not your average EV,” said Arden Hoffman, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer for GM*, who is in charge of peddling the new pedal car. “Pedaling this baby charges the batteries and your cardiovascular system at the same time!”

Besides a revolutionary drive-train powered by pedaling, a generator attached to the drive-train helps charge the batteries that supply power to lights, computers, and a 200-watt Bose® audio system with a super sub-woofer that provides an inspiring booma booma booma to sync your pedaling. “The new Trans-Am will keep you in shape,” commented a short-of-breath Mark Tatum, GM board member, and Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of the NBA, after taking the 3000-pound Trans-Am for a test pedal. “It weighs much more than it looks with that compact body.”

Other innovative features include a no-roof, open cockpit-style interior that provides natural airflow to keep you cool while pedaling with pride.

*Arden Hoffman’s real position and titles.

After my more serious post with a protest song yesterday, I figured a chaser of satire with photos of trees and clouds was in order for today.

No Comet Seen Tonight

The comet was supposed to be close to Mars tonight. Using three different cameras, various exposures, and binoculars, I did not see a comet near Mars.

The above image was from the live sky on SkySafariWeb. The image below is from Celestron’s website. I’m in MST, which was 7:00 PM when the above photos were taken.

Tangled mess of tails and toes

Becomes a ball, a cold sun
Sits eternal blue

From time’s space, she saw
Vibrant sky wore lacy trees
Venus winked, skies blushed
