Marina’s Incognito Pear Tree

The comet was supposed to be close to Mars tonight. Using three different cameras, various exposures, and binoculars, I did not see a comet near Mars.

The above image was from the live sky on SkySafariWeb. The image below is from Celestron’s website. I’m in MST, which was 7:00 PM when the above photos were taken.

The night sky with whispy clouds from a couple of nights ago.

We got a dusting of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Clouds over the Sandias before sunset on Wednesday afternoon.

Sunset on Wednesday evening.

While the official high temperature in Albuquerque was 101ºF (38.3ºC), the temperature in the east side of the building when I left the office was 107ºF (41.7ºC). I stopped by Costco on the way home and parked in the shade under their solar panels. When I got in the car to leave, the temperature still read 107ºF. The temperature did not change until I got home and it went down to 99ºF (37.2ºC).

Black bamboo sprouting in Julie’s Giant Dr. Huey has a Japanese look to it.

Spunk posing for intermission.

Pre-sunset looking east.

Sunset looking east.

Sunset looking west.
My car with windswept snow in the parking lot on Old Route 66 between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
Our months-long dry spell was broken today with a major windstorm, followed by snow.
The snow was still faling when I got home.
Silver and Sasha enjoying a warm counter.
Dale’s peach tree with Resa’s Tree in the background.
Snow caused the black bamboo to bend over and cover Marina’s Tree. The top of Lavinia’s tree is showing on the left.
My decadent birthday dinner: home made, hot and spicy, green chile cheese fries.
Marina’s Incognito tree blends in nicely with the black bamboo.
While spies come in from the cold, the Incognito tree has been outed by the cold.

Laurie’s parents gave me a drone for Christmas. The above video is Spunk’s and my first go at flying it and taking aerial video. Spunk was sort of okay with the drone’s propellers spinning until it took off. Then he made a run for it as the airborne, buzzing beast followed him. The other cats were inside and didn’t partake in droning this go-round.

I painted the outside of the darkroom and put up shelves for storage of the remaining equipment and supplies that are still in the dance room. There are three photos of the darkroom with a view from the top of the step, a view from floor level and a fisheye view just for fun. In-between the photos of the darkroom, I have a photo of our sunflower forest, and a photo of Veteran’s Honor with grasses, our black bamboo forest and trees behind it.
