Fine Feathered Friend

I don’t know what this little bird is, but it was insistent about getting its photo taken. The minimum focus on the Bazooka is 11.5 feet (3.5 meters). This bird kept hopping to branches closer to me making me back up to get it in focus. It’s an adorable little bird. Maybe Brian or Susan Hunter can identify it.

Walk With Life

Vultures on their break
Skeptics no concern
Spirits dissolved in daylight
The dead can wait their turn
Nighthawks played in streaming sunlight
Teasing out blue moon
Thunder sounded unseen strikes
Branches broken fell asunder
Fractured limbs will never heal
Distant sirens temptress sighs
Coyotes mournful cries
Hummers feed on orange blossoms
Hairstreaks purple feed on yellow
Rubbing flanges one up one down
Attached to shades of blue
A Predator took the bait

Bottom Feeder

Swimming slithering snail’s pace slow
Sucks the bottom blindly
Searching shallow’s tasty treasures
Muddy water turns to gold
Trickling off iridescent scales
Flowing into golden ripples
Disturbs light chocolate color

Deadly Dancing

Dancing days are done
Done in by social distance
Distance determined, solo spaces
Spaces empty, filled, masked faces
Faces covered vanquished smiles
Smiles once lifted miens
Miens covered informed eyes
Eyes sad, lonely, longing
Longing for closeness, movement
Movement together, shuffled feet
Feet stepping to the beat
Beat goes on determined song
Song inspires dance
Dance today is deadly
Deadly dancing
Dancing days are done
