The release was Tuesday. Wednesday morning, the river was still very dry in Corrales, but the water had started flowing through Corrales by Wednesday evening. The interagency effort is being billed as a “scientific experiment.” I just read this statement about the release: “This one-time release will allow us to gather important data about how water flows through the river,” said Water Authority Board Chair Barbara Baca, adding it’s also meant to help vegetation and wildlife hit by the drought.” I have seen the river dry up many times over my lifetime. I think these folks should know how water flows through the river. It’s quite simple, really. It’s also way too late to help many of the cottonwoods that had leaves in the spring and now stand bare.

Spunk doesn’t like Doppel, and neither does Silver. At the moment, we have to keep them separated. It’s a bit of a problem, since Doppel would like to explore more of the house. Thanks, Dale.
Oh dear! Trouble in paradise until they figure it out…
Trouble, indeed. Spunk slipped into the bredroom the other day, jumped up on the bed and didn’t see Doppel at first. When Doppel stood up to great Spunk, Spunk went balistic. I grabbed Spunk. He as growning and hissing and ready to shred me for holding him back from attacking Doppel. I had Laurie open the bedroom door and I quickly tossed Spunk into the hall before he could scratch me. That situation called for advanced team cat hearding. If Laurie wasn’t there, I would have been shredded getting Spunk out of the room.
Oh my goodness! Spunk! You are not allowed to hurt Tim! Even if you are in the presence of what is, at this time, a mortal enemy! Yowza…
Spunk thinks otherwise. He thinks I’m a great sparing partner.
Kinda impossible to convince him otherwise…
