I LOVE dragonflies, Tim. I read that they symbolize change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization. They are also associated with power, agility, and the ability to navigate through life’s challenges with grace. Any time a dragonfly comes near I feel a sense of harmony. I just learned a couple of years ago that a female dragonfly is called a damselfly!!! I continue to learn and learn and learn.
Thanks, Rebecca. Damselflies are not female dragonflies. Someone was pulling your leg. Dragonflies and Damselflies are quite different from each other. While they are from the same order, Odonata, dragonflies are from the suborder Epiprocta, and damselflies are from the suborder Zygoptera. The most noticeable difference is the wings. Dragonflies’ wings are always open when they rest, Damselfly wings are closed over their body when they rest.
I love when someone pulling my leg!!! LOL. Many thanks for the right information. I have no idea where I read about damselflies, but I did somewhere. Always learn something new when I stop by!!!!
Cool Whitetail Dragons Tim – at least that is what I think they are called, not as up on these winged creatures. The lines in the cushion make for a nice composition.
wonderful: I love dragonflies; you caught it at its moment of flight 🙂
I was moving closer and snapped just as it flew. Lucky shot. Thanks, John.

Damselflies are said to be rare compared to dragonflies. We have a lot of damselflies out here.
