Morning sky. White hot flames.

There were six beavers on the other side of the bank, eating, grooming, and lounging around. It was dusk, so it was too dark to see them in the above photo. We could see them clearly with binoculars.

Spunk dreams

We had thunderstorms roll through this afternoon. We got 4/100 of an inch of rain. The temperature dropped from 92ºF (33.3ºC) to 68ºF (20ºC) in a matter of minutes.
Crazy temp drop!!
After a couple nice sunny days, the thicj marine layer returned and we’re now, at 5:30pm, getting a partial breakthru of sun. It willbegone again within an hour.
Since are 5000 feet and the thunderheads are up around 30,000 feet, our rain is cold and cools things of quickly. Enjoy your sun break. Thanks, Leenda.
I’m enjoying the cool temps. It will be 100+ soon enough!
4/100 of an inch, eh? Sheesh. We got 400/100 just today! No, seriously, I don’t know how much we have gotten during the weekend but it was enough to raise the water level of my pool to the top!
That was a big temp dip!
How could Spunk not have cool dreams while snoozing outside!
That much rain would wash us away out here. He must have had cool dreams. Thanks, Dale.
It would definitely confuse the hell out of your ecosystem.
Many years ago, 2 inches of rain 15 miles west of Corrales, sent a 9 foot wall of water down an arroyo, which took out a bridge and flooded the north end of Corrales. They put the huge flood control channel in after that. That same year a heavy rain sent a 25 foot wall of water down a canyon in Colorado that wiped out a campground and killed several people.
Whoa! 2 inches caused that? And then the other one. Holy frijoles.
Our soils don’t absorb water quickly. It runs off quickly, so 2 inches in a short time can create a lot of runoff.
I can understand that. And it makes sense.
Spunk looks to be having a wonderful sleep!
He was. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
It rained here today too. But. What a drop in temp. It must have been refreshing to have a cool rainy day
It was nice but it kept us from doing some planned activities. Thanks, Becky.
Wow, that yellow sky is amazing. Spunk looks so peaceful.
He was a happy napper. Thanks, Roberta.
Hope they are happy dreams after a spin on the wheel…
He might have had dreams of mice spinning in his head. Thanks, Couriers.
Spunk has so much to dream about:).
He is a busy kitty when he’s not sleeping. Thanks, Janet.

I’m sure. Thanks, Shey.
Love the cloud photo, I do love watching clouds and taking videos of them. 🙂 great shot.
Thanks, Sandra.
Spunk looks engaged in whatever he does, even sleeping!
Beautiful skies, end to end in your area. I though we might get a T-storm the other day, but that river of moisture kept on rolling north.
Thanks, Lavinia.
The first and last sky images are delightful Tim.
Thanks, Brad.
I’m with Spunk dreaming of beautiful skies …and beavers!
Some rain would be really nice here!
Spunk is a dreamer. Thanks, Marina.

The Three Mouseket ears
A Mouse for All Seasons
Hahaha! You are so clever. Thanks, Resa.
Thank you! xx
Spunk sure is dreaming .. Wonderful skies Tim.
Thanks, Julie.
that is a big drop ! 20 degrees Celsius is the maximum we get this side of the winter solstice —
Our temperatures vary grearly between day and night, and summer thunderstorms cool off the heat quickly. Thanks, John.
Are any of the kitties using the new kitty wheel? We got a major downpour today – prefer long slow drizzles so the ground can soak it up for the wells. That’s gonna make the mega 20+ trail training run Thursday a lot more interesting for sure.
The cats lie in the wheel and lie about exercising. Watch out for wet, slick tree roots of all evil. Thanks, Brian.
