Dawned On Me

I went outside to check out Dawn this morning. She was colorful and quite lovely.

Jupiter was high in the sky, bright and shining.

Then it dawned on me that I should add some of my vintage cameras to my Mac Museum at the office.

  1. Wow… your vintage museum looks very impressive. I see you owned a Mac Pro Trashcan. That’s one (or the only) model I never used or bought.

    • Thanks, Herman. The Mac Pro Trashcan, I call it the mini Cray Super Computer because when you remove the cover, it looks like a Cray. They were not Apple’s best design as they overheat easily and crashed a lot. We have two of them. One is still in use. The one in the museum was always a bit cranky. I replaced it with a M1 Mac Mini 2 1/2 years ago. The M1 cost 10 times less than the Mac Pro, and has 1/4 of the RAM that’s in the Mac Pro. The M1 way outperforms the Mac Pro on every task and the M1 has been super stable.

      • It is still a bit scary to see how it all evolves. And thinking about all the money we spent on technology… I still like the looks of the Mac Studio models.

        • While the cost generally goes down, the amount that has been spent over the years is so much.

  2. I would say that it just dawned on me if I weren’t aware for some time now that you live in a dream world, inside and out! 😉 Great additions to your Mac Museum!

    • Thanks, IM. I built the guitars. The One Eye has Resa’s drawing on it. She has the Art Gowns blog.

  3. Great sky photos! Plus it’s nice to see someone who has more stuff than I do and is not afraid to show it.

      • I haven’t kept any of my old PC gear, but I do have a few old cameras. Most were from uncles or my dad.

        • I thought I had kept more of the weirder Apple products, but I haven’t found them. We were in the same office for 44 years. Who knows what happened to some of the old computers moving stuff between various storage units.

  4. Love that touch light in the corner. I’ve been disciplined in not buying one from Amazon. I’m trying to get rid of things. I like the gorgeous guitars mounted at an angle that way.

  5. Love your Mac Museum, Tim! Beats landfill, and the Art Guitars are the perfect glory to the collection.

OH, it’s dawned on me to tell you – Charlotte’s Art Gown is finished!!!!!!!
Actually, you are the first I’m telling. xx

  6. Reminds me of Linda and I’s Commodore Corner…we both grew up with that early computer line which propelled us into our future careers – now those once expensive devices just sit in a basement corner longing for a day when someone will once again finger dance on their keyboards.

  7. I love your play on words here. This is quite a collection. Our first family computer was a used Apple iii business computer with the big square floppy discs and a dot matrix printer. It worked very well at the time.

I love your guitars. The style and colorful designs are wonderful.
