So enjoyed going down to the river, Timothy. Looks like there’s a lot of sand showing, I’m thinking low water. Wonderful to see the secret toad in there! Great action shot with the crow. And I especially liked the sweeping clouds and overview of the first photo.
Isn’t there a name of a hymn, or close to it … Down By The River. I swear there was one we sung while we lived in Arkansas for a short time. Maybe another music person would know.
I don’t think so … the preacher would have flipped if we did. That would’ve been worth seeing. “This Sunday, we are doing music by The Talking Heads.” My mom would have said, “Never you mind, boy. It’s okay to touch the rattler your daddy is touching.”
I love snakes and rattlesnakes, but I’ll only handle rattlers with a snake hook. I was accused of being the Devils spawn by Sunday school teachers for having snakes when I was a kid. I was called the Antichrist in a public meeting once. I still have a 9-foot long boa constrictor.
What a surprise, I originally thought I was looking at a Zen sandscape, and then I looked closer nd realized I was looking at a Zen sandscape with reptiles in place of rocks. Incredible camo!
I particularly like the composition and use of color in the third shot.
Thanks, Liz. There was a little blue in the clouds.
You’re welcome, Tim. I liked the blue in particular.
Nice!
Thanks, Cindy.
Ah, that river has so much to offer! Thank you for these. Needless to say, crow is lovely! 😉
Needless to say, he was a sassy crow. Thanks, Marina.
Most of them are, but lovely sassy! 😉
Love the bird with his undercarriage still down!
That’s a sassy crow. Thanks, Geoff.
I like the river scene. And the toad that seems to have been there when the water left marks in the sand around it.
It’s a tiny toad marking it’s tiny time. Thanks, Brad.
Three totally different and equally beautiful shots. That frog (toad?) really blends in, doesn’t he?
The toad is a blender. Thanks, Dale.
That he is!

Thanks, Jet. The river is at it’s summertime low. The toad is tiny. There were lots of them hopping around in the sand.
That’s a wonderful calm pic.
Thanks, Shey.
awww your eyes are too good to catch the toad. I almost missed him. Cute little guy. ❤️
I just saw the movement of him hopping. Otherwise, I would not have seen him. Thanks, Cindy.
Lucky you, lucky us, lucky him.. you could have stepped on him otherwise❣️
There were a bunch of tiny toads hopping around.
Dramatic clouds. I hope they brought some rain.
Not a drop. Thanks, Rebecca.
I especially like the toad blending in with the sand. I didn’t see the little fellow at first.
He’s a good camo toad. Thanks, Lavinia.
I almost missed the toad. Great shots!
Thanks, Nancy. The toad is totally camo.

Are you thinking of Take Me To The River bu The Talking Heads: https://youtu.be/QmEBlrRRMBQ? Thanks, Danzig.

I’m going to hell for sure! 😏

The Rio Grande…Right?
It looks lovely today! xx
Yes it is. Thanks, Resa.
