Spunk lying in the summer heat thinking about the Lovin’ Spoonful’s song Summer In The City.

Resa’s Tree making a summertime fashion statement with a three-cornered cloud hat. We started discussing three-cornered hats and Manuel de Falla’s opera El sombrero de tres picos. I told Resa’s tree that she might have been a tiny twig when Falla wrote El sombrero de tres picos in 1916-17.
If you have 40 minutes, the above video is a fun performance of El sombrero de tres picos.

The sun making another scene before going to bed.
Cat days are the best days!
Thanks, Holly.
😊
I have to take time for the 40 minutes later, when my phone is fully charged and the wifi OKs it.
Terrific sunshow before sleep.
😊
Great sky photos, as expected. You keep setting the bar higher and higher.
Thanks, Brad.
Forgot to mention, in the freeze frame on the video still there’s a Ruby Red Porsche 356 at the bottom of the frame. A friend of mine used to have one of those, and they catch my eye wherever I happen to be.
They are eye catchers. Lots of old cars and smoking going on in that video. One of our local restaurants pioneered banning smoking on the premisses in the 80s. Albuquerque followed their lead and then the country.
I, for one, am very glad they did.
Me too. Once they banned smoking the atmosphere changed, the clientele changed and the restaurant really prospered. I got used to no smoking then we moved to Spain for 4 years where smoking was everywhere. Hack! Hack!
And I thought Europe was ahead of the US in things like that.
Not Even close. Drunk driving was much worse in Spain, also. I remember arguing with Spaniards who were clueless about what to do about the high traffic fatalities. They didn’t see drinking and driving as part of the problem. The government put out a safe driving checklist before the holidays. “Don’t drink and drive” was number 9 of 10 don’t do items on the list. I saw highway patrol officers drinking wine and beer with their lunch while I was traveling with a couple of drunk Spaniards. I thought, “Crap! Even the cops are inebriated!”
That’s just a bit scary. And I thought certain big cities here were hazardous.
I had some wild stories from those days.
Family show.
Cats know how to enjoy life.
Excperts. Thanks, Rebecca.
😅😅😅
That’s how to do it. Spunk knows where it’s at! I love that song…
It’s a great song. Thanks, Dale.
The sky is on fire!
Thanks, Geoff.
I saw John Sebastion in concert once. He was wearing some strange rainbow pants.
Sounds colorful. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Don. Those pants were actually very distracting.
Such a cute name for a cat, Spunk. 😻
Thanks, CP.
Beautiful Spunk has the right idea….and Summer in the City is one of my favourites:)
Thanks, Janet.
Oh…these cats… well one of them anyway. Love SUmmer in the City.
Thanks, Shey.
Spunk’s got the city at his feet ….literally!
Okay… I am now convinced that Resa’s tree has hidden cloud magnets! How else could they be projecting its image in the sky!
Lastly, your sun was really making a scene.
Sigh…
The sun gets a bit out of control here. Resa’s tree is a cloud magnet. Thanks, Marina.
Well, a whole different set of rules there and all wonderful!
Spunk being Spunk, clouds acolour, I enjoyed them my mate.
Thanks, Inchie.
Being in cool Ireland for almost two weeks, I forgot it was summer. Thanks for reminding me. 😆 Great photos!

I wish I could relax like Spunk! 🤣☺️🤗
I know what you mean. Cats are master relaxers. Thanks, Becky.
Spunk always steals the show. Thanks for the videos! That song Summer In The City, I remember it well. Looking at that video is like time travel. Different world back then.
Much different world back then. Thanks, Lavinia.
Ah… my tree was just a twig. Well, we all start somewhere.
Looks great in a Tricorn.
Spunkie-Poo 💋 is the perfect poster cat for summer.
LOVE “Summer in the City”…interesting footage in the video.
I’ll have to listen to “El sombrero de tres picos” mas tardes.
The guys just started playing… Helter Skelter… love it! xx
Sounds like a good time. Thanks, Resa.
Spuck is a summer kitty. You tree was just a trwig once. Can you believe it? Thanks, Resa.
Born during WWI.
The skies you are getting are magnificent. We get either London grey overcast or nasty late day red and heat that also makes me think of London at the end of the old science fiction flick The Day the Earth Caught Fire
We get nice skies. Thanks, Angela.
Handsome kitty! Those skies are amazing ..
Thanks, Julie.
I feel ya’ Spunk, we are heading to 97 degrees Friday and somewhere close on Saturday for my race..that will be some major suckage. I have to laugh every time I hear a song by Lovin’ Spoonful. Great songs, but a lot of people do not know the meaning behind their name – same thing with ZZ Top’s Pearl Necklace ha.
That’s cause a lot of boys can’t be boys anymore. Thanks, Brian.
