Sunset in Purple

Purple clouds at dusk looking northeast.

I walked a mile and a half south of the house and got the sunset looking northeast, east and south while standing in the middle of the Rio Grande. Besides the normal shades of yellows, pinks and blues, the interesting shaped clouds to the north turned purple.

      • Agree with John – those do look like lenticular clouds, one of my favorite cloud formations.

The little purple clouds remind me of what the visual field looked like in my left eye when I tore the retina back in August. Only there were many more of them. They looked like a strange flock of birds, only I soon realized I was only seeing them with one eye! The surgery has held up well. Can’t complain! Beautiful and thought provoking photos as always, Timothy!

        How are the snakes doing?

        • Thanks, Lavinia! It’s much better seeing real birds, than having a torn retina. Good you got it fixed. The boa is doing really well. She is hungry. I have rats thawing and will feed them to her in the next few days.

  1. Timothy…awesome sunsets. I want them! I’ve changed the sunet gallery to Include sunrises…so if you have any please let me know. I got a few from Greece and thought why not both! Thanks for your amazing photos. Christine
