Behind all those clouds Jupiter and Venus were conjoining. It’s supposed to be clear on Friday morning for the second conjunction of Jupiter and Venus.

Since I couldn’t see the conjunction, I was hoping for a colorful sunrise, but no such luck.












While it might look like Daisy Duck was gabbing to Donald Duck, she was chasing insects.



A very large wasp ran up to me and then turned and retreated when I moved my foot.

Tristan found this wasp with her wings tucked under her while we were setting up for Reyes. Tristan put the wasp in a container with some honey to see how long she will last. The wasp may be an old lady since she was found snuggled up by herself in one of our cushions on the deck.

Meet Wilma Wasp, a Toltec Scoliid (Dielis tolteca) that is native to the southwest. I normally only see the butts of Toltec Scoliids sticking out of the trumpet-shaped flowers of the Chitalpa tree. However, this afternoon, Wilma Wasp was really working the Shasta Daisies totally ignoring my phone camera just inches away from her.






With lots of colds, flu, allergies, and hacking making the rounds, Teri Dashfield, who has Images by Dashfield, inspired the Average White Boys to collaborate with another obscure virtual group of allergy-infested hackers known as Violent Phlegm to form a new virtual music group called Coughing Cooties. I am happy to release the Coughing Cooties’ first single, Lovelorn Wasp.
