Can you find the owls in the above photo?

There were 10 birds in the tree above Mama Owl.

I don’t know what they are.

They were backlit, so zooming in on them looses most of the detail.

Key to where to Owls be in the tree.
As you can see, Major Tom Peepers flew up into the crotch of the tree above the nest, leaving Sleepy and Mona Lisa below.

Mona Lisa: “Sleepy? What are we gonna do about Major Tom Peepers flying the coup?”

“Losers!”

Mona Lisa: “That was mean Major Tom!” Sleepy: “I’m going to try my wings!”

“That didn’t do anything! There’s Major Tom Peepers all proud of himself!”

Mama Owl up above.

“You two are pathetic!”

Daddy Owl in the next tree to the south.

Sleepy: “Who are you calling pathetic? You hurt Mona Lisa’s feelings.”

“Who me? I hurt Mona Lisa’s feelings. She’s too sensitive!”

“Sorry Mona!”

“Look here. I’m biting myself on the leg to make up for it!”

Major Tom Peepers finally flew back down and all three were watching for dinner at sunset.

Another photo of pre-sunset clouds I got on my first visit to the owlets this afternoon.

Finally got some more water to irrigate. Many of our roses and iris will be very happy.

Mona Lisa, inspired by Tabatha Towhee’s performance the other day, tries doing a little Owlet Opera singing.

Pre-sunset

Tabatha Towhee was scratching around in the leaves a few feet in front of me getting some grub at sunset.

She had a real beak full before she flew off. I presume she is feeding wee tiny towhees close by.

The rose that took over. It’s a free, free-range rose that is freely ranging over the arch and fence next to where I park my car.

We finally got Laurie’s new MacBook Air M1 so I could have my MacBook Pro that I use for recording back. The first thing I did after I got Laurie’s new M1 set up yesterday was to go into the studio and re-record the lead guitar parts and cleaned up some parts with the bass and rhythm guitar where I was out of compás in Wood Duck Daze. Then I put the new track with the video. I think there are still one or to rough spots, but overall it’s much improved and the lead guitars are really wild like those crazy Wood Ducks.

Tabatha Towhee gave us her rendition of Habanera from Carmen by Bizet.

Bravo! Bravo! Tabatha Towhee.

On the flip side.

Well done Tabatha.

Life’s Habit
Music: Jefferson Airplane
Lyrics: Timothy Price
One bill makes you wonder
And one Bill makes you sad
And the bill for the electric
Only makes you mad
Was in Corrales
When I took the call
When climbing walls becomes a habit
And there’s no paper in the stall
You dream of hula and smoking hot chicks
You have nothing left at all
To call Corrales
Where I take my calls
You see those men on the surfboard
Hang ten got it all on GoPro
They crash and burn like Max Headroom
Now their moving very slow
Was in Corrales
I had seen the show
Sympathy nor restoration
Dialog cut off is dead
And the dark nights reel us backwards
And feeling mad about what’s ahead
Remember simple words you said
“Try peace instead, try peace instead”
