Freezing temperatures and a higher river level produced more fog this morning.

A more colorful dawn
While Jake and I were out walking in freezing temperatures at daybreak, the cats were still asleep on the bed when we got back before sunrise. They were still sleeping in after sunrise.

Marble says one of many advantages she has over being a dog is that she can sleep in while the dog and stupid paparazzo have to go on a walk in the freezing cold.

Sunset

Spooky fog, that would have gone well on the trail. Cooler temps and high winds here, making it a pain to get everything g out of the woods. A rare time when I am on the kitties side…too cold for a walk ha.
Fog is great for spooky scenes. Fortunately, there is no wind here, only getting colder. I saw a meme with a man walking a dog in the rain in the dark on the top frame and a woman in bed with her cat in the bottom frame labeled “Dog and Cat owners!” It’s true. Laurie sleeps in with the cats while Jake and I walk in the cold and dark. Jake loves the cold, of course. Thanks, Brian.
Cats have an easy life while poor Jake has to go out in the cold. At least he can explore and enjoy himself
Jake loves the cold. The walk is a sniff and pee for him. Thanks, Becky.
We’re with you Marble.
Thanks, Couriers.
Freezing temperatures and sleeping cats shows how smart your cats are…
They agree. Thanks, Herman.
The kitties have the right idea.
That they do. Thanks, Shey.
Smart kitties!
They are. Thanks, Tiffany.
I’m glad you and Jake get out early to find and share so many beautiful dawns and images. I like to sleep in like your cats.
Somebody has to do it. Thanks, Brad.
😊
I love the morning fog.
Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Love the Sandias in the mist even if the cranes are not available at the moment I guess they don’t get up that early lol It’s hard to read where one cat ends in the next begins it’s just a big lump of various cats at first glance! Marble is right cats have it made. Love the square rose and its ruffled effect I don’t think I’ve seen that shape before. The Sandias in the sunset are rugged and delicate, a lovely combination.

They’re just an old lump of cats… Thanks, LS.
lol O lol

Gotta give the kitties their props for knowing when to stay put…stay warm…stay asleep.
They know how to live. Thanks, Bruce.
I didn’t know it got that cold where you lived. The cats always know they should stay in bed.
It gets into the teens through the winter and often to single digits. Sometimes the temps fall below zero. Thanks, Gigi.
Wow. Did not know that.
I agree with the cats, freezing mornings are good for sleeping, but too much to do here to do that.
That is some tower city on top of the mountain! I love those misty mornings. We get a lot of them here.
Lots of towers on the crest. Thanks, Lavinia.
Two different worlds. one where you just sleep through until it’s time to eat. The other where you go out in the cold, and pee until it’s time to eat.
The animals have it made! xx
You have the right. Spunk is being frisky and attacking me at the moment. Thanks, Resa.
He’s so cute!
Oh…I never get used to the aliens that live on the Sandias.
True. Thanks, Resa.
It sure looks chilly … I think the cats had the right idea
They do. Thanks, Julie.
