  1. Laurie takes some beautiful photos, too! You caught the setting moon in the morning, and she caught a beautiful pinking of the clouds at sunset. Mr. Spunk is as photogenic as always, and looking very innocent there. I forget whether he came into the fold when Mama Manx was still around. I still remember some of your kitties that became citizens of the Greater Universe. Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Mama Manx… There was another kitty with a bad leg or foot, too, but don’t remember her name.

    • Lola was the kitty with the cast. We lost her and Najar in 2020. Mama Manx died before we got Spunk. But Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Lola, Najar, and Diné were part of Spunk’s younger days. We got Najar on Christmas 2014 to be a playmate for Spunk because Spunk was constantly mauling poor Rosencrantz. Rosencrantz was so patient with Spunk and put up with the mauling. Thanks, Lavinia.

      • I remember the other kitties now. I think Diné was one of Mama Manx’s companions when I started following you way back when.

I will miss seeing Blue the Boa. I am sorry she passed away. I remember her as the moustache snake, from the markings on her nose.

        • Diné was our beautiful calico. She was the first cat we got after we returned from Spain at the end of 1999. She was rescued from the Navajo Reservation. She was really sick, and it was touch and go for about a year. We got Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in the summer of 2000. They were our Y2K cats. We got Moma Manx and her krtten, Stretch, in 2004. He had congenital kidney failure, and we kept him going with subcu fluids until he died in 2013. Mama Manx died in late 2014. We got Spunk on July 28, 2014. They were together for a few months.

  2. I looking forward to the coming of the dawn, Tim, especially after a night filled with anxiety. The darkness magnifies fears and worries, but the arrival of dawn brings light, clarity, and a fresh perspective. Your photograph captures that sense of embracing courage and finding peace within ourselves. A wonderful post, as always.
