We live in the rain shadow of the Sandias on the east and the Continental Divide to the west. I often sing Cat Stevens’ lyrics to myself as “I’m being followed by a rain shadow. Rian shadow. Rain shadow.” Thanks, Shey.
Without question you have the most breathtaking sky ever. I have to thank you. After over a decade I have decided to start painting again. The cats will have to give up a little square footage so I can have a studio space, but they have the whole house so they can spare it.
Hi, Tim. I enjoyed your poem. The photos are beautiful. I particularly like the liked the bicycle shadows. How fun. That one photo looked sort of like a narrow landspout. Wishing you and Laurie and the critters a great weekend. Hugs.
Thanks, Teagan. I had three more lines about standing against the wind and vultures circing overhead, but since I didn’t have photos for the lines, I took them out.
Oh Tim, your photos reminded me of a quote by K.D. Lang: “The sky is an infinite movie to me. I never get tired of looking at what’s happening up there.”
Holy wow!!! Those are some awesome photos! Here in central California, we’re having a cloudy day but no rain, although there is a chance. The rain storms seem to be in the Sierra Nevada mountains instead! 💗
I hope riding on the shadow’s edge is a bit less dangerous than riding the heat edge that I fell over during my race. Beautiful scenery for a bike ride.
All your shots are surreal tonight.
I love them. Thanks Tim!
You’re welcome, Resa.
xx
So nice to get rain in our part of the world. Love the riding on edge shadow.
Rain is always welcome. Thanks, Cheyenne.
Riding on Edge Shadow
I like that. Has the song been written? The painting painted? The book, movie or sculpture?
Very cool! Thank you Cheyenne!
Not a one. Just a double Timku that’s a bit over the edge. Thanks, Resa. Your tree is hamming it up tonight.
Okay!!!
Timothy started the Riding on Edge, but thanks Resa, I’m mulling over the Riding on Edge Shadow painting. Needed a kick start!
Okay!!!!! I like the sounds of the painting I can’t see yet!
I love watching and photographing skies, and yours have been great lately.
Thanks, Brad.
Fabulous skies – thank you -:)
You are welcome, Janet.
A rain shadow. Love that. Can’t get the Cat Stevens song Moonshadow which I like out my head

Good for you. I’m sure your kitties will be supportive. Thanks, Angela.

Ha! I can relate to the idea of seeing vultures circling. I think the poem is just right as it is.
Vultures were circling overhead, but I didn’t manage to get a decent photo of them. The wind was fierce at times.
Your photos are magical today!
I love the Cat Stevens change-up.
I also enjoyed your Timko.
Thanks, Nancy.
Nice rainbow! We actually saw a few rain drops last night, but nothing like your skies! 😍
Beautiful poem to go with your wonderful photos, Tim!👏👏
Thanks, Cindy.

So well said. Thanks, Rebecca.

It would be nice for you to get some rain. But you normally get winter rain. Thanks, Samantha.
Amazing photos. What a show!
Thanks, Rebecca.
Beautiful swirling clouds.
You have captured the phenomenal explosion of the beauty of the clouds & sky, sir!
Thanks, Cynthia.
That is an absolutely beautiful set of photos, Tim, especially the rainshafts and rainbows. Thank you!
Thanks, Lavinia.

It was 90º F out on the shadow’s edge. Thanks, Brian.
