A Ruby Wedding Anniversary

Laurie and I celebrated 40 years of marriage and a total of 42 years together. Both are significant numbers. While I can’t say we’ve been wandering around in the wilderness for the past 40 years, we have spent 40 years together in the high desert. Fortunately, we have carved out a piece of paradise in our desert. For those of you who have not seen the photos from our shotgun wedding, you can see them at https://photos.tandlphotos.com/blog/2017/5/celebrations-of-life.

Tristan made us a very special dinner for our anniversary, which included a four-layer Zigarat cake. The dragon tail flame illuminated a ghost who joined us for the celebration.

  1. Happy Anniversary to you and Laurie, Tim! Totally cool and charming wedding! (I’ve been enjoying your beautiful photos but have not commented lately because I’m undergoing a major health crisis.)

  2. Congratulations to you and Laurie, Tim on 40 years of marriage, and 42 years together. 42 also being the answer to the Universe and everything, too. 🙂

I enjoyed your wedding photos over on Zenfolio again. Perhaps Delgado was the ghost who showed up tonight.

    • Could be. As I mentioned to Nancy, first look the ghost has a Hitchcock profile, but then it looked more like a dog to me. Could have been Delgado. Thanks, Lavinia.

  3. Een mooi en gelukkig jubileum Timothy voor jou en je vrouw! Ik wens jullie beiden nog vele gelukkige jaren samen! Happy anniversary! 🌹🎂( sorry for my english language)

  4. Congratulations to you and Laurie. It’s so lovely to see people stay together so long and I wish you both more happy years together. One more thing, can you beam me (if the Star Trek transporter device is working again) a piece of that delicious looking four-layer Zigarat cake?

  5. Happy Anniversary on 40 years! The cake looked awesome and who is the ghost? So cool!
And the cake looks so good! What flavor are the layers?

    • The ghost looked a little like Hitchcock, but then as I looked at it more it looking like a dog. Could be our old Great Dane. A psychic told us her spirit roams the property. Thanks, Nancy.

  6. Happy anniversary! Anyone who starts off their wedded life the way you two have, is bound to have a good life together. You guys are a hoot
And now I know why you’re so darn good as a photog!

  7. My congratulations to you and Laurie for both your wedding and your time being together !

  8. Ah, the perfect Ruby Anniversary, Tim! Sending all my best wishes, from here too for a life full of blooms and happiness, together. Love that cake! …and yes, it looked like Hitchcock joined you! 😉

  9. I hope it is your Great Dane. Inspirational photos, as usual, and an inspirational love, which is the only way for us mortals to make paradise, perhaps.

  10. Happy anniversary! It sure is many years spent together! May you live together for many long happy and healthy years to come 😊

  11. Another look at the shotgun wedding, it seems Laurie was really enjoying herself. One more thing, you don’t have enough cameras around your neck. And, when your wife tells you to stand still, you stand still. (LOL) 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Happy Anniversary to you both.

  12. Hurray for yesterday – congratulations to you and Laurie. From your posts and pictures, you have a wonderful life. Wishing you health and happiness for many more years together. How sweet to see your wedding pics – it seems from some that your collective senses of humour have not changed.

  13. A big congratulations to you and Laurie! 40 years is impressive and a tribute to what a great decision the two of you made to commit to each other… and that cake looks yummy.

  14. Wow! Thanks for the link to your wedding photos, that looks like a fun wedding!! Happy 40th anniversary!! I forgot we share the same date, ours is only 12 years, but sometimes feels like 40!😂

    • Happy 12th. I hope you had a good time? I was thinking there was someone else besides our neighbor that shared the same wedding date. I remember you had mentioned it but I didn’t remember either. Thanks, Tiffany.

  15. LOVED the photos of your shotgun wedding. What a fabulous and unforgettable moment for you and Laurie as well as all your guests. Congratulations on your Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Life is the very best when shared with a kindred spirit.

  16. Tim, I wanted to leave a comment on the wedding picture post, but it wouldn’t take it. So, it’s here. Happy anniversary! What an awesome shot gun wedding you and Laurie had. Love the cowboy attire and the creative dress! A fun couple snd crowd. 🥳🎶 Christine

    • I don’t do anything with the T& L blog but refer to it these days. It’s best to comment. ON WP. Thanks, Christine. BTW your book is here begging to be read. Laurie wants to read it, also.

      • I thought so. The post was 2017. Really awesome wedding photos! Wow, I’m so glad you both want to read the book. I’ve had one friend stay up all night to read it. She couldn’t put it down. Yay! And she wrote a great review. Hope you both like it! Enjoy! 📚🎶Christine

      • We have to finish putting together presentation for a conference, then we will be able to read it.

      • Awesome! I’m told it’s an easy read even though historical fiction can get a little complex. All that history. But, fiction and history are weaved seamlessly into the story, readers tell me. 📚🎶 Christine

      • More on the marketing plan coming this week. I’m following the things I see bestselling authors do, only on a dollar budget. 🥳🎶

      • You do what you can do. Your tree is in the first sunset photo in the five orange photos in today’s post.

  17. Shotgun congratulations on your wedding day, Tim! I checked out the pics. You two were meant to be together. It shows in the photos.
