World Opposite

We talk
My world opposite yours
Your today is my tomorrow
My today is your yesterday
Through your voice I see the future
Through my voice you glimpse the past
When I see the light, you stand in darkness
When darkness engulfs me, your light shines
My summer is your winter
When you spring, I fall
Your world opposite mine
We talk

  1. I like the double meaning in your poem. If we look at the physical, you could well be writing about the U. S. and Australia. On the other hand, I can see the relationship between generations who seem to operate on opposite ends of the spectrum, figuratively speaking.
The contrail is striking. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one that color.

  2. This is sooo beautiful Timothy and I even got a tear cuz it so reminds me of our relationships here. So precious and rare and each live had such heartfelt meaning. Your words in poetry are so heartfeltπŸ’–πŸ’–

    • Thanks, Cindy. I was thinking about my blogging buddies in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.

  3. Oh, how precious! Priceless creation- both the poem and the picture. So so beautiful! Indeed, seems like our virtual community is a world apart, yet connected by technology. This is just wonderful! πŸ‘Œ

    • That is the wonder of the Internet. We can know each other virtually when we are on opposite sides of the world. Otherwise, we would never each other.

      • True that! But I do think the world is a small place. I wouldn’t say β€œnever” though. Most of us are globetrotters and one never knows how they’d bump into someone they know online πŸ˜‰ (Based on true stories!)
But Ofcourse, that doesn’t happen everyday. πŸ™‚
