I have a series of photos taken in twilight at the Salton Sea that I was trying to decide how I wanted to present them. I finally decided to write a song and create a music video with the images. I took advantage of this wet, rainy, muddy Black Friday to record the song and put the video together.
Red Cape on the Edge of the Salton Sea
Lyrics and Music by Timothy Price
Standing on the edge
Of the Salton Sea
Dancing in the darkness
Destiny
Wrapped in a cloak
Releasing red
Wakening spirits
From the salty beds
Twilight glows
Off the shore
Cape swirls
Disturbed forlorn
Ceremony’s twilight
Apparitions conjured
Silhouettes dancing
in the night
Dusk turns on
A golden somber
Silence calls
Ghosts asunder
and it turned out great!
Thanks, LiDea.
I’m always enjoying your musical adventures, Tim. Another great post!
Thanks, Herman.
Excellent tune.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for listening. I’m happy you enjoyed it.
Cool music and video!
Thanks, Robin.
Nice! You captured some gorgeous photos, and I love the song and lyrics, perfectly paired with your photographs!
Thanks, Tiffany. I know you have memories of the Salton Sea. It think I saw a few in your latest painting.
Wonderful choice of formats, you’re extremely talented!
Thanks, Holly.
You’re welcome
Listening now, Tim. I always enjoy your creativity! I am glad you are playing music again.
Hi Lavinia. It’s probably not your style of music. I was trying to get the feeling of the weirdness of the Salton Sea.
I gravitate towards the quieter, but appreciate all styles.
Quite creative! That swing in the water looks like fun.
Thanks, Teri. It was fun watching the girls wade out to the swing.
At the edge of your guitar playing…. love it!!!
How big is that Salton Sea, anyway. Need to look that up!
It’s big, and a man made failure as far as the whole development.
Man made!!??!!
I gotta look this up!
Loving the guitar riffs, I like to see music and art together.
Thanks, Charlotte. Happy you like the guitar riffs. I can imagine you cringing at my singing. I’m a terrible singer.
No your singing suits the folky rock music just right.
Thanks for being sweet, charlotte. Check out my post Archonymphomania if you haven’t already. I think you will get a kick out of it.
